Ordering Christmas Labels This Year? Here Are Our Despatch & Delivery Dates For A Chaos-Free Christmas!

Wednesday, October 30th, 2019

With just 8 weeks to go, we are sounding the Christmas Klaxon with our annual reminder that you should order your Christmas labels as EARLY AS POSSIBLE! Here’s our despatch and delivery advice for Christmas 2019!

Why Do I Need To Order Christmas Labels Now?

Printing Christmas labels takes a LOT longer than you think. Remember, you need time for…

  1. Your order to be despatched AND delivered to you.
  2. Setting up a label template (not always as simple as it should be).
  3. Printing your label template (also not as simple as it should be).
  4. Sticking your labels onto things!
  5. Sending your labelled items off to their next destination.

While we always aim to despatch labels as quickly as possible, there are TWO factors that can slow down the arrival of orders in the lead-up to Christmas.

  1. More people are ordering labels, which means that our manufacturing lead-times get longer. It takes longer to despatch made to order items and stocked items may be temporarily unavailable. Our usual lead-time is up to five working days but this will increase to five working days and then five to seven working days and eventually seven working days.
  2. More items are being delivered, which puts pressure on delivery services. We use Royal Mail’s first class service for small orders (under 200 sheets), which does experience delays as we get closer to Christmas. This is why we strongly recommend upgrading to next day delivery (which will, inevitably, also begin to experience delays in December).

So, if you want to avoid disappointment, order your Christmas labels as soon as possible – and by as soon as possible, we mean now!

What If I Need To Order Christmas Labels Later On?

If, for some reason, you can’t avoid ordering Christmas labels closer to Christmas, here is the despatch and delivery information you’ll need to bear in mind…

SMALL ORDERS OF STOCKED ITEMS (25 sheet packs, up to 250 sheets)

Despatch same day (Mon-Fri, up to 4pm) via Royal Mail’s first class service.

These orders are the most likely to experience DELIVERY DELAYS. Generally, 93% of first class post arrives next day (although it can take up to five working days). As we get closer to Christmas, first class post starts to experience delays (along with a few items getting lost altogether).

We strongly recommend upgrading to next day delivery (which you can do online or by phone). This has an additional shipping charge (which is the fee that Royal Mail charge us), which depends on the total weight of your order BUT this service also guarantees delivery on the next working day.

Orders to the Republic of Ireland are posted by Royal Mail’s International Service, which takes 3-5 working days.

MEDIUM ORDERS OF STOCKED ITEMS (25 sheet packs, 250-475 sheets)

Despatch same day (Mon-Fri, up to 3pm) via next working day carrier.

These orders may experience a SHORT DESPATCH DELAY if a particular item goes temporarily out of stock. Our carrier service guarantees anytime next working day delivery – for a guaranteed delivery time, you will need to contact our Customer Service Team to upgrade.

Delivery to Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly, and the Channel Islands is via a 2 day carrier service.

LARGE ORDERS OF STOCKED ITEMS & MADE TO ORDER ITEMS (500 sheet boxes)

Delivered via next working day carrier once stock is available. Despatch CURRENTLY takes up to five working days, with standard paper labels being despatched much sooner – lead-times will increase in the run-up to Christmas.

These orders are most likely to experience DESPATCH DELAYS, as our manufacturing lead-times increase from UP TO five working days, to five working days, then five to seven working days, and eventually seven working days. If you need a lot of labels, our only recommendation is to order as soon as you possibly can.

Delivery to Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly, and the Channel Islands is via a 2 day carrier service.

You can contact our customer service team to confirm lead-times and stock availability if you need to order large quantities or made to order items.
