Super Swift Despatch and Delivery Options from Label Planet

Label Planet Labels LogoHere at Label Planet, we appreciate that a lot of our customers need their sticky labels before an important deadline – which means they need super fast despatch and delivery. This is why we have a wide range of stocked products – ready for same day despatch. Likewise, we try to make sure that our made to order items have reasonable short lead times. Plus, we use delivery services that get your sticky labels to you safe and sound – as soon as possible.

Despatch And Delivery – DESPATCH OF STOCKED VS. NON-STOCKED ITEMS

We supply self adhesive labels in over 100 labels sizes across 30 different material options. Unfortunately, this means that we cannot stock all of the different product options because there simply isn’t room! Instead we make sure that our stocked range features as many of our most popular products as possible.

STOCKED ITEMS: sticky labels available for same day despatch from stock (Mon-Fri, up to 4pm). These items have a minimum order quantity of 25 sheets on our website. We also stock a small number of products at our warehouse. They have a minimum order quantity of 100 sheets on our website.

NON-STOCKED ITEMS: sticky labels made to order. We make products on a rotating schedule; it takes around five working days to run through all of our size and material combinations. Made to order items are therefore despatched within five working days, although standard paper labels usually despatch sooner. Non-stocked items have a minimum order quantity of 500 sheets on our website.

Despatch And Delivery – DELIVERY TIMES OF STICKY LABELS

Our delivery times depend on the delivery service you choose. We send small orders (fewer than 200 sheets) via Royal Mail and all other orders via carrier (usually DPD).

SMALL ORDERS: standard delivery uses Royal Mail’s first class service. Delivery is usually next day but, as this is not a guaranteed service, can take up to five working days. If you need to receive your self adhesive labels before an important (and very close) deadline, we recommend upgrading to our guaranteed delivery service. We use Royal Mail’s Special Delivery Guaranteed service, which guarantees delivery by 1pm on the next working day. You can upgrade to this service online or by phone.

We have two additional services; you can request a pre-9am delivery service or a Saturday guaranteed service.

Special delivery has an additional shipping fee; this is the amount that Royal Mail charges us and depends on the amount of sticky labels you order.

LARGE ORDERS: our standard delivery service uses a next working day carrier service *. This service is free of charge and guarantees that your order will be delivered on the next working day. If you need your order to arrive as early as possible, you can upgrade to a timed delivery service for an extra shipping fee. You will need to place your order by phone to request an upgrade.

* Delivery to Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly, and the Channel Islands is via 2 day carrier service.

FAQs For Last Minute Orders Of Self Adhesive Labels

There are only FIVE days left before we shut down the Label Planet office for Christmas, which means you have FIVE days left to place a last minute order for Christmas labels.

This post contains all of the answers to the FAQs that we receive every year around Christmas as a guide to placing a last minute order of self adhesive labels from Label Planet.

When are you open this week?

9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Can I still order blank labels for delivery BEFORE Christmas?

Yes, depending on:

  • The product and quantity of blank labels you are ordering
  • The delivery address for your order of self adhesive labels
  • The shipping options available for your order of sticky labels

Why does it matter what product and quantity I need?

ORDERS OF 500+ SHEETS: these items are despatched same day via carrier (up to 3pm) where stock is available; standard paper labels are kept in stock, while other materials and adhesives are made to order – at this time of year, the demand for self adhesive labels means that our lead times increase to 7+ working days, which means we cannot manufacture and despatch these items for delivery before Christmas.

ORDERS OF 200-475 SHEETS: orders are despatched same day (up to 4pm) via carrier (next day service for UK mainland and 2 day service for Northern Ireland, Ireland, Scottish Highlands & Islands, and Islands With UK Postcodes).

ORDERS OF LESS THAN 200 SHEETS: orders are despatched same day (up to 4:30pm) via Royal Mail’s first class post as standard. Royal Mail do NOT guarantee first class items will be delivered next day and this service is likely to see delays at this time of year, which is why we recommend upgrading to a special delivery service.

What special delivery options are available?

Medium and large orders are despatched via next working day carrier service as standard (2 day for non-UK mainland), although we do have timed delivery services available (e.g. pre-10:30 delivery, pre-12 delivery etc) – contact our Customer Service Team by phone to find out more.

Small orders are despatched by Royal Mail’s first class service as standard; we STRONGLY recommend upgrading to Royal Mail’s Special Delivery Guaranteed service (next day delivery by 1pm). The shipping fee depends on the quantity of blank labels being ordered and you can upgrade online (after you have entered your delivery details) or by phone.

We also have a pre-9am delivery service and a Saturday delivery service for small orders; please phone our Customer Service Team to request either of these options.

Why does my delivery address matter?

Deliveries to Northern Ireland (large orders only), Republic of Ireland, Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly, and the Channel Islands tend to take (at least) a day extra compared to delivery to the UK mainland. Medium and large orders (200+ sheets) are sent via 2 day carrier service, while small orders being delivered to Ireland are sent via Royal Mail’s International Standard service.

So what are your last despatch dates?

WEDNESDAY – Last orders for:

  • Delivery to Northern Ireland (200+ sheets), Republic of Ireland, Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly, and the Channel Islands – UP TO 3PM.
  • Small orders being delivered to UK mainland & Northern Ireland via STANDARD delivery (Royal Mail’s first class service) – we cannot guarantee that these items will definitely arrive before Christmas – UP TO 4:30PM.

THURSDAY – Last orders for:

  • Large and medium orders (200+ sheets) being delivered to UK mainland via carrier service – UP TO 3PM (large orders) / 4PM (medium orders).
  • Small orders being delivered to UK mainland and Northern Ireland via SPECIAL delivery (Royal Mail’s Special Delivery Guaranteed service) – UP TO 4:30PM.

FRIDAY – Last orders for:

  • Small orders (less than 200 sheets) being delivered to UK mainland via SPECIAL SATURDAY delivery (Royal Mail’s Saturday Delivery Guaranteed service) – UP TO 4:30PM.

This service can ONLY be requested by phone; we CAN place orders of 200-250 sheets on this service if you wish but this does have a much higher shipping cost due to the weight of the items being delivered.

Will you stop accepting orders before Christmas?

NO; but if your items are out of stock OR you order after our last despatch dates your self adhesive labels will NOT arrive before Christmas.

Orders despatched via Royal Mail’s first class service that don’t arrive before Christmas will usually be delivered in the days after Christmas when service in your area resumes. Medium and large orders will be despatched via carrier when we re-open in the new year.

Despatch & Delivery Update – Last Posting Dates For 2017

There are only a few weeks left before Christmas, which means that those all-important despatch and delivery deadlines are creeping closer and closer.

If you’re planning to buy self-adhesive labels in December, our advice – as ever – is to order AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (if not RIGHT NOW!) and to put small orders (under 250 sheets) on our guaranteed next day delivery service.

While we do everything we can to get orders despatched as quickly as possible, our despatch AND delivery estimates are increasing:

  • More orders are being placed (usually for larger quantities), which means there are more sticky labels in the queue for manufacturing – increasing DESPATCH estimates for made to order items and bulk boxes (up to 5-7 working days).
  • More items are being delivered; we always despatch orders as quickly as possible but have no control over delays within the Royal Mail’s network or our carrier’s network – possibly increasing DELIVERY estimates for all orders.

Generally speaking, GUARANTEED delivery services tend to maintain expected levels of service – it is only the Royal Mail’s first class service (used for small orders) that experiences delays, which is why we strongly recommend upgrading to a guaranteed delivery service.


We will be despatching self adhesive labels up to (and including) Friday 22nd December; our last posting dates depend on the QUANTITY of printer labels you wish to buy, the DELIVERY SERVICE you select, and your DELIVERY ADDRESS.

If you’re looking to order self-adhesive labels but you need to know how long it will take for your items arrive, this blog post should have all the answers to your despatch & delivery questions!

Despatch of Self-Adhesive Labels
We try to maintain a wide range of stocked label sizes and materials to allow as many of our customers as possible to purchase labels that can be despatched same day. All of the label products on our website that have a minimum order quantity of 25 SHEETS or 100 SHEETS are stocked items that are available for same day despatch from stock.

Label products with a minimum order quantity of 500 SHEETS are generally made to order items that are despatched within five working days – although standard paper labels are generally kept in stock in larger volumes so we are able to despatch orders for these items much sooner (with standard matt white permanent labels often being available for same day despatch from our warehouse stock).

Made to order items are made on a rotational basis, which means that the time it takes for your labels to be made and despatched depends on when the item(s) you have ordered next appears in the rotation schedule (which takes five working days to cycle through). If you need your labels quickly, remember you can always contact us before placing an order so that we can contact the warehouse and confirm the despatch estimate for the particular item(s) that you want to order.

Delivery Of Self-Adhesive Labels
The delivery service we offer will depend on the quantity of sheets being ordered and the shipping address that you request.

Please note that we ONLY ship to the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

Standard delivery is by Royal Mail’s first class service or next working day carrier service; this service is included in the prices displayed on our website and is available for all orders with delivery addresses on the UK Mainland.

Standard delivery for Northern Ireland, Islands With UK Postcodes, and “Extended Postcode” regions is via Royal Mail’s first class service or 2-3 working day carrier service, while delivery to the Republic of Ireland is via Royal Mail’s international signed for service or 2-3 working day carrier service – both of which have additional shipping charges. Orders for delivery to the Republic of Ireland, therefore, must be placed by phone so that we can apply the correct shipping option for each particular order.

SMALL ORDERS (25-200 sheets): despatched same day via Royal Mail’s first class service (up to 4:30pm, Mon-Fri)

MEDIUM ORDERS (200-475 sheets): despatched same day via next (working) day carrier service (up to 3pm, Mon-Fri)

Special Delivery Options For Delivery Of Self-Adhesive Labels
We offer a range of special delivery options if you need to make sure that your labels arrive in plenty of time for an upcoming deadline. These special delivery options include Royal Mail special deliveries (for next day delivery before 1pm, 9am, or 1pm on a Saturday) and timed carrier deliveries (for next day delivery before 10am, 10:30am, or 12pm).

You can request any of these special delivery options by calling our Customer Service Team; they do incur an additional shipping charge but this is the fee that the Royal Mail/carrier provider charges us and we do not add our own shipping charges onto any orders.

Small orders of between 25-200 sheets can also be upgraded to a next day delivery option (for delivery on the next working day before 1pm) during the checkout process.

We hope you had a marvellous time over the Christmas break and had a spectacular start to the New Year.

Here at Label Planet, we’re back in the office and are busy processing orders that were placed over the Christmas holidays. If you did place an order over the break then you should shortly be receiving an email confirming that we have processed your order and it is either being manufactured (made to order items) or will be despatched this afternoon.

Orders of stocked items will be despatched this afternoon via Royal Mail’s first class service (25-200 sheets; if you selected the next day delivery option when you ordered, your order will be despatched via Royal Mail’s Special Delivery Guaranteed service) or our next working day carrier service (250+ sheets). New orders, meanwhile, will be processed according to our usual despatch and delivery estimates:

Please note: some of our coloured labels have a minimum order quantity of 100 sheets, which means that they are kept in stock at our warehouse and are despatched via next working day carrier service – while we do our best to ensure that these items remain in stock, there may be times when an item goes temporarily out of stock and despatch will be delayed a few days while the items are made.

NON-STOCKED/MADE TO ORDER ITEMS (500+ SHEETS):
Despatch: next working day carrier service (once items have been manufactured)
These items are manufactured on a rotating schedule, which means the lead time is UP TO five working days for despatch (although standard paper products are usually despatched more quickly than this).

Please note: if you are ordering 250+ sheets and need your labels in a hurry, you can call us to request a timed delivery service via carrier (such as a pre-10:30am or a pre-noon delivery slot). Orders of 250+ sheets for Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Islands With UK Postcodes, and UK “Extended Postcode” areas will be sent on a 2-3 working day carrier service.

If you want to order from the Republic of Ireland, you do need to order by phone so that we can quote for and arrange the best possible shipping option for the exact items and quantities that you need to order.

Our office hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday; to qualify for same day despatch, you must order by 3pm (250+ sheets) or 4:30pm (less than 250 sheets) – and please note that we do NOT offer same day delivery.

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like (This Is A Blog About) Christmas (Despatch & Delivery Information)!

Yes, yes, we know – it’s far too early to talk about Christmas, but with only 48 days (yes, we counted!) and only 35 WORKING days (yes, we counted again) left until Christmas  – it’s never too early to get organised, especially if you need Christmas labels that will actually arrive BEFORE Christmas.

The majority of the labels that we sell at this time of year, as you can probably guess, end up being used as Christmas product labels, address labels for Christmas cards, invites, and mailers, or as part of Christmas events – so all of these labels need to be ordered, despatched, delivered, designed, printed, applied, and despatched on to their final destination BEFORE Christmas arrives – and doesn’t that just make those 48 days (or 35 working days) seem a lot less longer than they did before?!

A lot of our customers end up buying their labels as the very last step in their Christmas projects; they may have spent weeks and months (and years!) putting together Christmas product ranges, working on marketing and promotional campaigns for the Christmas season, or creating special invitations and cards BUT the labels they need to complete these projects all too often end up being a last minute thought – when, actually, they need a lot more than a “last minute” to get them just right.

Simply designing a template and getting it to print correctly can take much longer than you’d think and you’d be surprised at how many of our customers are caught out by forgetting to account for the time that it will take them to actually stick their labels onto their products/packaging/marketing materials/invitations etc. And all of this is before you consider the implications of trying to get things delivered at this time of year!

So, with all of this in mind, we’d like to encourage ALL of our customers to plan ahead and to order their Christmas labels as soon as they can – so you don’t end up in a last minute panic! Here is our despatch & delivery information for November & December;

As we get closer to Christmas, demand for made to order items soars, which means that items will eventually be placed on a waiting list for manufacture and the lead time is likely to increase – in our experience, it will usually become 5 working days (and not “up to”) before extending to 7-10 working days as December approaches. Depending on the level of demand, production of made to order items will usually stop in early/mid-December with despatch and delivery estimates shifting into 2017.
This means that it is especially important to order your labels early if you know that you need to order a large quantity of (made to order) labels.

Special Delivery Options
As Christmas gets ever closer, the reliability of delivery services (and especially the Royal Mail) does decline as more and more items are sent out in time for Christmas, which means that it’s a good idea to consider upgrading your order to a special delivery option – especially if you’ve got some pretty tight deadlines to meet. We offer the following special delivery options:

FAQ – Can I Place An Order For Delivery To Ireland?

We often have enquiries from customers in the Republic Of Ireland, who aren’t sure if they can place an order with us. We DO accept orders from the Republic of Ireland BUT we do ask that these orders be placed over the phone so that we can arrange for the correct shipping arrangements to be made, based on the specific items that you wish to order.

This is because the shipping will depend on the exact items that you order – or, more precisely, the overall weight of the items in your order – and currently we do not have the facility to add the correct shipping option to orders from Ireland via our website.

So, how do you place an order for delivery to Ireland?

Simply contact our Customer Service Team; let us know the label products and quantities you would like to order and we will provide you with a quote for those items – along with the shipping cost for your order. If you wish to proceed with your order, simply make payment with a debit or credit card over the phone OR request a Proforma Invoice (against which payment can be made by debit/credit card, BACS transfer, or cheque).

Smaller orders (25-150 sheets) will be sent via Royal Mail’s International Signed For Service, with same day despatch for orders placed by 4:30pm (Monday to Friday); larger orders will be sent via a 2-3 working day carrier service with same day despatch for stocked items (less than 500 sheets) and up to five working days for made to order items.

Made to order items are identified as having a 500 sheet minimum order quantity; despatch is estimated at up to five working days although standard paper products are generally despatched much sooner.

If you are VAT registered, you can also request that the VAT be removed from the cost of your order; simply have your VAT number to hand and we will ensure that your order cost is exempt from VAT.

FAQ – Do You Offer Worldwide Shipping?

At Label Planet, we supply A4 sheets of self-adhesive labels to customers in the UK and Ireland; we are not set up to process orders for customers outside of the UK and Ireland UNLESS they nominate a UK or Ireland delivery address and arrange their own transportation from that address onwards.

Despatch and delivery information (and prices) are the same as for the UK mainland, with the exception of orders of 500+ sheets; these items are despatched on a 2-3 day carrier service with an additional service charge. Delivery To The Republic of Ireland
All orders to the Republic Of Ireland must by placed by phone so that we can work out the best shipping option/price for the quantity of labels being ordered. Orders of 25-220 sheets will be sent via Royal Mail’s International Signed For Service, while orders of 250+ sheets are sent on a 2-3 day carrier service (same day despatch if ordered by 4pm). Orders of 500+ sheets will also be sent on a 2-3 day carrier service; stocked paper products will be despatched same day, while made to order items will be despatched within 5 working days.

So what if I don’t have a UK or Ireland delivery address?
We have a sister company (Madebuy) trading on Amazon and Ebay; Madebuy sell genuine Label Planet products and are able to despatch goods to a number of worldwide destinations.

Whether you’re ordering a few packs of labels for a small project or you’re ordering box after box for a warehouse full of goods, it’s nice to know how long it will take for your items to be despatched and delivered.

Despatch and delivery estimates depend on the quantity and the specific label products being ordered. While we have a large selection of labels that are available with same day despatch from stock, some of our items (and larger quantities) are made to order, which will take a little longer.

So, whether you just want a rough idea of idea of when to expect your labels or you’ve got a specific deadline in mind, read on for a breakdown of despatch and delivery information for the items you want to order.

 25 or 50 sheets
Availability: Stocked item.
Packaging: Hard backed C4 envelopes.
Despatch: Same day (when ordered before 4:30pm, Mon-Fri).
Delivery: Royal Mail’s First Class service.
Please note: First Class service is NOT a guaranteed next day delivery option; around 93% is delivered on the next working day but the rest can take a few days extra. Orders over £35 will be sent on the Signed For service, which requires a signature on delivery.
Upgraded Delivery: Royal Mail’s Next Day service is available online and by phone. Customers can also phone to request alternative upgraded delivery options, including a Pre-9AM service and a Saturday service.
Please note: Next Day service requires a signature on delivery.

75 – 200 sheets
Availability: Stocked item.
Packaging: 75-100 sheet orders are packed in small boxes (which will fit through standard letter boxes), while orders over 100 sheets are packed in medium boxes (which may not fit through standard letter boxes).
Despatch: Same day (when ordered before 4:30pm, Mon-Fri).
Please note: some of our coloured labels have a minimum order quantity of 100 sheets, which means that they are kept in stock at our warehouse – while we do our best to ensure that these items remain in stock, there may be times when an item goes temporarily out of stock and despatch will be delayed a few days while the items are made.
Delivery: Royal Mail’s First Class service.
Please note: orders worth over £35 will be sent on the Signed For service, which requires a signature on delivery.
Upgraded Delivery: Royal Mail’s Next Day service is available online and by phone. Customers can also phone to request alternative upgraded delivery options, including a Pre-9AM service and a Saturday service.

200 – 475 sheets
Availability: Stocked item.
Packaging: 200-250 sheet orders are packed in medium boxes, while orders over 250 sheets are packed in large boxes.
Despatch: Same day (when ordered before 4:30pm (less than 250 sheets) or 3:30pm (250+ sheets)).
Please note: some of our coloured labels have a minimum order quantity of 100 sheets, which means that they are kept in stock at our warehouse – while we do our best to ensure that these items remain in stock, there may be times when an item goes temporarily out of stock and despatch will be delayed a few days while the items are made.
Delivery: Orders below 250 sheets are despatched via Royal Mail’s Signed For service, while orders of 250 sheets or more will be despatched via a next day carrier service (UK mainland only).
Please note: Signed For and carrier services will require a signature on delivery.
Upgraded Delivery: Royal Mail’s Next Day service is available online and by phone. Customers can also phone to request alternative upgraded delivery options, including a Pre-9AM service and a Saturday service. Customers ordering more than 250 sheets will need to call us if they need to request an urgent delivery (e.g. AM delivery).

Orders of 500+ sheets
Availability: Stocked item / Made to order item.
Packaging: Large boxes.
Despatch: Up to five working days, although standard white paper products/stocked products are usually despatched much sooner.
Please note: if you order 500 sheets of a “stocked item” (indicated by a minimum order quantity of 25 sheets), then it is likely that your order will be despatched from stock kept at our warehouse. If you order multiple boxes of a stocked item, however, your items may be made to order, which will delay the despatch time slightly. Made to order items are subject to up to five working days for despatch as they are made according to a rotational schedule, although standard paper products will usually be made sooner.
Delivery: Next working day carrier service.
Upgraded Delivery: If you require your labels urgently, please get in touch and we will advise of any available alternative shipping options (e.g. AM Delivery).
Please note: if you need your labels in a hurry, you can always get in touch with us so we can check what stock is available and give you the most up to date despatch and delivery information for those items.

Additional Information

  • We do not offer same day delivery.
  • Our office hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, which means that all orders are processed and despatched during these hours only. Large orders must reach us by 3pm to guarantee that they will be placed on the carrier service for that day, while small orders must reach us by 4:30pm to ensure that they can be packed before our post is despatched for the evening.
  • We only offer delivery to the UK (including islands with UK postcodes) and the Republic of Ireland (orders must be placed by phone so we can add the correct shipping option to your order); if you need to order labels from outside of the UK you must either nominate a UK delivery address or you may wish to purchase from our sister company Madebuy (Madebuy sells genuine Label Planet products via Amazon and Ebay).
  • Orders sent to Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Islands With UK Postcodes, and UK “Extended Postcode” areas will be sent on a 2-3 working day carrier service and NOT a next day service due to the distance involved.
  • If you need to receive your labels in time for a deadline, the best thing to do is to upgrade your shipping option online or call us to discuss the shipping options available to ensure that your order reaches you in plenty of time.

Let The Bells Ring Out For The Last Posting Dates For Christmas 2015!

Yes, it is officially December, which means that the Christmas countdown is underway; Advent Calendars are being ripped open, it’s finally acceptable to play Christmas music in public, and it’s high time that you got the Last Posting Dates written on your calendar/wallchart/convenient post-it note, in bold black marker pen, circled in at least two different colours, with a handful of exclamation marks for good measure.

The majority of labels ordered at this time of year are destined for Christmas-related applications, whether it’s labels for Christmas cards, gifts, or homemade decorations, or labels for Christmas stock, seasonal promotions, or a big Christmas event. The common theme for all of these labels (besides Christmas!) is that they will all be time-sensitive; all of them need to be ordered, despatched, delivered, designed, printed, applied, and sent on their merry way to make sure that they reach their final destination in plenty of time for Christmas.

Therefore, we would advise all of our customers ordering labels at this time of year to order AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE, so they don’t fall foul of the panic and chaos of taking a chance on the Last Posting Dates.

Our current despatch/delivery estimates are as follows:

ORDERS OF MADE TO ORDER ITEMS: up to 7-10 working days for despatch via next working day carrier.
(Made to order items are placed on a waiting list for manufacture: at this time of year, the volume of items is much higher than normal, so we would advise customers to get in touch for an exact despatch estimate for the particular item(s) they want to order)

ORDERS OF 500+ SHEETS: same working day despatch via next working day carrier – where items are in stock.
(Again, customers should contact us for exact despatch estimates, particularly if multiple boxes are required)

ORDERS OF 250-475 SHEETS: same working day despatch via next working day carrier.

ORDERS OF LESS THAN 250 SHEETS: same working day despatch via Royal Mail’s first class service.
(Royal Mail AIM to deliver these items on the next working day; usually around 93% of first class mail does arrive the next working day with the remainder taking a few days extra; HOWEVER, at this time of year, due to the sheer volume of items being sent, this service is likely to see delays. We would therefore strongly recommend that ALL customers ordering less than 250 sheets should consider upgrading their order to a guaranteed next day delivery service. If you do not wish to upgrade, we would advise that we allow Royal Mail five working days to deliver first class items and will not declare them to be lost until this time has passed).

Please note that if you request delivery to an address in Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, or Islands With UK Postcodes your items will be sent via 2-3 working day carrier. This service may experience delays as we get closer to Christmas and the last day orders will be accepted for delivery before Christmas will be Friday 18th December.
