Construction - What does construction mean?
A label construction is a multi-layered laminate made up of a number of different webs and layers. A construction in its most basic form has a top layer of face material, a middle layer of adhesive, and a bottom layer of a backing sheet with a release coating. However, constructions can include many other layers, including overlaminates, various decorative and protective coatings, opaque base layers and adhesives, and printed face materials. Pressure sensitive labels are a type of label construction. A construction may also be referred to colloquially as a sandwich.Go Back to Glossary
