Convert - What does convert mean?
To change something into another form, substance, state, or product. Materials and substances can be converted either by changing the substance itself or by combining materials and substances together.
In labelling, materials get converted at a number of stages throughout the manufacturing and printing processes. Common converting operations include; adding an adhesive, adding a release agent to a backing sheet, adding a coating (or coatings), laminating a material, bonding webs together into a laminate or construction, die cutting, slitting a web into sheets, and even printing itself.Go Back to Glossary
