Gloss - What does gloss mean?
Answer:
A type of finish. Gloss is used to describe a surface or colour that is bright and shiny. A gloss surface is very efficient at reflecting light; when light is reflected off a gloss surface it is concentrated into a smaller area, which creates a bright, shiny finish. The level of concentration when light is reflected determines the quality of the gloss finish. In labelling, coatings, face materials, and inks with gloss finishes can be used to create a label with a gloss finish.
