Get Your Designs Into Shape With Label Shapes From Label Planet

August 15th, 2018

Sometimes a really simple way to get creative with labelling projects is to make the most of the label shapes available. Here at Label Planet, we supply rectangular labels, round labels / circular labels, oval labels, and square labels to help you get your labelling project into shape.

How Can Different Label Shapes Make A Difference To Your Design?

Being selective with your label shapes is a brilliant way to add an extra dimension to your label design. They give a creative boost to any design and each label shape has its own set of benefits. label shapes from label planet

Rectangular Labels

You might think rectangles are a bit boring but they have plenty of benefits if you choose to use them. They are the easiest shape to work with and are available with rounded or square cut corners. Rectangles tend to offer the largest area to work within, which is great if you need to fit a lot onto your sticky labels. They also fit well onto items of all shapes and sizes.

Square Labels

If you’re looking for a subtle alternative to a standard rectangular shape, square labels are an ideal choice. They offer a slightly different shape that can help to draw the eye. Like rectangular labels, they offer a good space in which to add your design and are easy to work with. Our square labels have rounded corners.

Round Labels / Circular Labels

Round labels are a perfect way to add a decorative flourish to any labelling project. They naturally draw the eye and fit well on items of all shapes and sizes. They can be more difficult to design and trickier to print accurately – but if you’re willing to put in a bit of effort and have plenty of patience, they can produce extremely rewarding results.

Oval Labels

Perhaps the trickiest of the lot to design and print, oval labels offer an especially decorative shape. They are a great way to add a personalised touch and tend to create a home-made feel. You’ll need to make sure that your design suits the continuous curve of your blank labels to get the most out of this particular shape.

Media Labels

We also supply a few special shapes. These are label shapes designed for a particular purpose. For example, CD labels or DVD labels and box file labels or folder labels. If you need self adhesive labels for these particular applications, choosing media labels that match the shape of your items helps to make sure your sticky labels look professional – and ensures that their shape is fit for purpose.

Top Tips For Keeping Your Label Shapes In Line

Here are a couple of top tips that will help you to always keep your label designs in shape.

  • KEEP THINGS CENTRAL: where possible, always centralise your design. Your design will start from the centre of your sticky labels and expand outwards. This helps to create balanced designs that look professional, as well as making sure that you don’t end up accidentally cutting bits of your design cut off around the edges of your sticky labels.
  • WATCH OUT FOR THE EDGE(S): take extra care if your design extends all the way to the edge of your sticky labels. Your design must account for the shape of your sticky labels especially if you are adding design elements to their edges (see backgrounds and borders). You also need to account for the capabilities of your printer. Most standard printers cannot print all the way to the edge of an A4 sheet. If your printer doesn’t have an “edge-to-edge” printing capability, it may not be able to print the full area of all of your blank labels. You may need to adapt your design if this is an issue.
  • BIG BACKGROUNDS AND BOLD BORDERS: it is very tricky to get every single design to align perfectly with every single blank label on an A4 sheet. If you are using coloured backgrounds and/or borders, this can lead to white edging. This means that some of the edges of your sticky labels are left unprinted because your design hasn’t quite aligned perfectly. To avoid this problem, we recommend oversizing coloured backgrounds and borders. This allows them to overlap all of the edges of your sticky labels making it impossible for white edges to appear.

Use Gloss Labels To Add Some Shimmer And Shine

August 8th, 2018

Gloss labels are a great way to add a decorative touch of shimmer and shine to any labelling application. Find out how gloss labels can add a touch of glitz and glamour.

What Are Gloss Labels?

The term “gloss labels” applies to sticky labels with a gloss finish. The term is usually refers to a “full” gloss finish, although it may also include a range of “partial” gloss finishes, including semi-gloss and silk/satin finishes.

What Is A Gloss Finish?

Finish refers to the surface properties of a paper or film as determined by its appearance and texture. A gloss finish refers to a surface that has a bright and shiny finish. Gloss surfaces are bright and shiny because they are very efficient at reflecting light. The level of gloss, therefore, depends on how efficiently the surface reflects light (i.e. whether the light is reflected in a concentrated pattern or if it is diffused/scattered). A “full gloss” finish is very bright and shiny because it reflects light very efficiently. A “semi-gloss” finish is less bright and shiny because it is less efficient at reflecting light and more likely to diffuse (scatter) light.

What Are The Benefits Of Gloss Labels?

The primary benefit of gloss labels is their decorative appearance. Gloss labels are often chosen for marketing and promotional purposes because they add a subtle touch of decoration while also creating a professional and high quality finish. Usually they are chosen because they provide a subtle contrast to standard matt labels – providing a decorative finish without resorting to the use of coloured labels or elements of pattern and texture.

The shimmer and shine of gloss labels can also be beneficial because it tends to draw the eye more than the dull, flat finish of a matt label. This can be used to draw attention to a particular item or to the specific information carried on the gloss label.

Gloss labels are usually made by adding a special coating to a face material (such as paper or polyester). In addition to creating a gloss finish, these coatings also tend to have additional benefits. For example, they often create a protective layer, making your sticky labels tougher and more durable. In some cases, particularly with paper labels, they can provide (limited) protection against exposure to water. Our two splashproof paper labels are not fully waterproof because they are paper labels. However, their coatings provide some protection, which means they can be wiped clean and dry if lightly splashed with water. Another benefit is that coatings can help to improve the receptivity of your sticky labels, improving the quality of print you can achieve. This is especially important if you are trying to reproduce high resolution artwork on your sticky labels.

How Removable Labels Help You Avoid A Big Sticky Mess

August 1st, 2018

Removable labels are this week’s sticky issue. Find out how they work and why they help you remove sticky labels without getting in a sticky mess.

What Are Removable Labels & Removable Adhesives?

The name is a bit confusing because pretty much any self adhesive label can be removed – if you try hard enough. Removable labels, however, are designed specifically to be removed. They form adhesive bonds that hold your sticky labels in place but don’t leave behind adhesive residue when you remove your sticky labels.

Removable labels create temporary self adhesive labels. You may only need to label items for a specific length of time. Alternatively, if the information displayed on your labels needs to be updated, you may need sticky labels that are easy to replace.

How Do Removable Adhesives Work?

Like permanent adhesives, removable adhesives create an adhesive bond with a surface. Where they differ is how they behave when removing a sticky label.

To remove a permanent label by physical force alone, you have to apply enough force to break apart the adhesive layer. This often makes it difficult to remove the label in one piece (especially paper labels, which tend to tear apart) and leaves behind adhesive residue.

This is because permanent adhesives have excellent adhesion and cohesion. Adhesion is the strength of the adhesive bond with another surface, while cohesion is the internal strength of the adhesive bond itself.

Removable adhesives, therefore, tend to have high cohesion but lower adhesion. This means the internal strength of the adhesive bond is stronger than the external bond with a surface. When you remove a label, the adhesive layer remains in one piece (leaving no residue behind).

Most pressure sensitive (self-adhesive) removable adhesives work this way. Alternative methods rely on applying an external agent to permanent adhesives in order to break down the adhesive bond. One example is our Water Wash Off Labels, which have a permanent adhesive that breaks down when exposed to water. You can remove your permanent labels from labelled items simply by  giving them a good wash.

What Kinds Of Removable Labels Are Available From Label Planet?

We supply a range of different removable labels to help our customers find an option that best suits their application.

Create Your Own Super Sticker Sets With Round Labels From Label Planet

July 25th, 2018

This week, we’re celebrating circles and taking a look at all the fun things you can do with round labels – like making your own badges, stickers, rewards, and gift tags.

What Sort Of Super Stickers Can I Make With Round Labels and Circular Labels?

You can use round labels and circular labels to make:

Name Badges: perfect for networking events or kids’ birthday parties.

Buttons & Badges: make buttons / badges to hand out to people when they visit a particular place or participate in an event. Create branded gifts for corporate or charity events OR mementoes for special days – like birthdays and weddings.

Reward Stickers: round labels are the perfect way to make reward badges or stickers for children. Stick onto progress charts, into workbooks, or hand them out as badges to reward good behaviour and special achievements.

Gift Tags: add a personalised message or finishing touch to gifts and gift items.

What Sort Of Round Labels and Circular Labels Should I Choose?

Round labels and circular labels are available in all sorts of different label materials and adhesives. It depends what you want your stickers to look like, where they will be stuck, and how long they need to stay stuck for.

If you want to create a colourful design, you have two options:

  1. Select white labels that you can print with the background colour of your choice.
  2. Select coloured labels to give yourself a colourful background onto which you can add your design.

Our range of coloured materials includes pastel coloured labels, fluorescent labels, brown Kraft labels, and metallic gold and silver labels.

Alternatively, you can choose between our transparent labels or our white labels. We have options for matt or gloss finishes. A matt finish creates a dull, flat surface, while a gloss finish creates a bright, shiny surface.

How Do I Add A Design To My Round Labels and Circular Labels?

Round labels and circular labels can be trickier to design (and print) compared with rectangular or square labels. You have to align your design with the constantly curving edge of your blank labels.

Most software and printers have limited accuracy, so you’ll need to take extra care (and maybe use a bit of trial and error) to get your design just right.

At Label Planet, we supply Word label templates and PDF labels templates for all of our label sizes.

label planet round labels sizes

Three of our round label sizes (72mm, 63.5mm, and 40mm) also have compatible Avery codes. You can use built-in Avery label templates to design and print these label sizes. The other sizes are not supplied by Avery and so there aren’t any Avery label templates available.

If you are creating a sheet of stickers with the same design (or groups of designs), we recommend adding your design to the top left label and then using copy and paste to complete your template. We strongly recommend performing a test print onto blank paper before printing onto your sheet labels. This allows you to check for any misalignment and correct your label template (or printer settings) to resolve the issue – without wasting any of your sticky labels.

Top Tips For Designing Round Labels and Circular Labels

Pick Your Software Carefully

Graphics software is perfect for designing your own stickers. The label template will show the exact shape and layout of your round labels / circular labels. You simply need to add your design in the right place.

Not everyone has access to or knowledge of graphics packages, however, and they may need to use more basic software. This is usually word processing software like Microsoft Word.

You can create a perfectly good label template for round labels and circular labels using word processors. The design tools will be limited because the software is designed to handle text.

Word is not sophisticated enough to replicate the shape of round labels and circular labels. Instead, a grid of squares represents each blank label. Each round label fits inside a square so the circular label touches each of the four sides of the square.

You have to estimate where the edges of your round labels are when adding your design. This makes it especially important to do a test print of your label template.

When adding images in Word, you also need to change the Wrap Text format to Tight. The default setting (In Line With Text) limits where you can position your image. Changing the Wrap Text format gives you much more control (and accuracy). Click on your image and select the Picture Tools Format tab at the top of the page to change the Wrap Text.

Keep Your Label Shape In Mind When Creating Your Design

Many people who are creating round stickers instinctively want to use round elements in their design and add borders or design elements around the edges of their sticky labels. Unfortunately, it is difficult to align these elements perfectly. They can also end up emphasising any slight misalignment on your printed sheet labels. We recommend centralising your design so it starts from the centre of each label and expands outwards.

Be Aware Of White Edging

White edging is a bit of a misnomer because it actually refers to blank or unprinted areas around the edges of your sticky labels. This can happen if your label template and printer settings haven’t been set up properly. You simply need to adjust your template or print settings to fix the issue.

It can also happen because your software and printer don’t offer the precision required to print each label perfectly. Most printers are accurate to within a millimetre or two. This can mean that you end up with areas around the edges of your round labels that are unprinted.

While you can spend hours tinkering with your template and printer trying to correct this issue, it’s far simpler to oversize your design. This way it will overlap the edges of your sticky labels – making it impossible for white edging to appear.

This is a common issue when adding a coloured background or border. Coloured backgrounds are easily fixed by resizing your design. Borders are more difficult because you have a smaller area to overlap across the edges of your round labels. We recommend avoiding a border if possible. If you absolutely have to have a border, make it as thick as possible so it is easier to overlap.

Set Up Your Printer Properly

If your printer has a media bypass tray – use it! This is a secondary tray designed for thicker materials (like self adhesive labels) and offers a straighter path through the printer. This reduces the risk of misalignment caused by your sheets rotating as they are pulled through the printer. Load your sheet labels carefully so that they are sitting in a straight stack with the guides placed levelly along each side.

You also need to go into your Printer’s Properties or Printing Preferences before you print to ensure:

  • The page size is set to A4.
  • No scaling options are applied. For example, a percentage less than 100% or any “Fit To…” options.

How To Make Window Stickers With Transparent Labels From Label Planet

July 18th, 2018

Our transparent labels are the perfect way to make your own window stickers. Read on to find out how to create window stickers using transparent labels and (mirrored) label templates.

Which Transparent Labels Should I Use?

At Label Planet, we supply FOUR different kinds of transparent labels. The one you choose depends on the adhesive type, finish, and level of permanency that you want for your window stickers.

transparent labels from label planet

Transparent Labels – Laser Versus Inkjet

Your first choice depends on what type of printer you have available to print your transparent labels. Three of our ranges are laser labels that must be printed with a laser printer (GTP, GTR, and MTP). The other – GCP – is a range of inkjet labels that must be printed with an inkjet printer.

As an interesting sidenote – if you opt for our GCP material, you can also create transparent “white” boards. Write or draw on our GCP with whiteboard markers and you can wipe it away and start again.

Transparent Labels – Permanent Versus Removable

Next you need to decide if you want your window stickers to be permanent or removable. Again, three of our ranges are made with a permanent adhesive (GCP, GTP, and MTP). The fourth – GTR – is made with a removable adhesive, which means that you can remove your window stickers easily and cleanly (i.e. with no sticky mess).

You would be able to remove the permanent labels eventually with a bit of effort. This is likely to leave behind adhesive residue, however, which you would need to remove with a solvent or adhesive remover.

Transparent Labels – Gloss Versus Matt

Three of our transparent label ranges have a gloss finish (GCP, GTP, and GTR). This means that they reflect light very efficiently and have a bright and shiny surface. The other (MTP) has a matt finish; this is less efficient at reflecting light, which creates a duller surface finish.

If you need your window stickers to be easy to read at a glance, you may wish to opt for a matt finish. The matt surface is less likely to create glare that could potentially obscure your printed message.

What Label Templates Should I Use?

You can use standard label templates to create window stickers – unless your stickers are to be stuck onto the “inside” of a window and viewed from the “outside”. This is because “normal” designs will only read correctly when viewed from the inside. You could have bespoke transparent labels made with your required print added to the underside of the transparent face material (so they read correctly from the opposite side). Alternatively, you can use a mirrored label template, which mirrors or reverses your design so it reads correctly when viewed from the opposite side.

You only need to do this if your design contains directional elements, such as text or directional arrows.

At Label Planet, we provide mirrored Word label templates for all of our label sizes. Navigate to the template information page for your label size. The mirrored labels templates are listed under the Word Templates column. You can choose a portrait or landscape orientation (where applicable).

If you wish to create your own mirrored label template, you can do so by filling in a standard label template and reversing the elements in your design. In Word, you can do this by clicking on your item and then clicking on the Picture Tools or Drawing Tools Format tab at the top of the page. Use the Flip tool to reverse images and shapes. To reverse a text box or WordArt, you will need to click on Shape Effects, select 3-D Rotation and 3-D Rotation options, and then set the X Rotation value to 180°. This will usually add a grey background to text boxes. You can remove this by selecting the text box, clicking on the Drawing Tools Format tab, and changing “Shape Fill” to No Fill (or a colour of your choice!).

Get Stuck Into The Great Outdoors With Waterproof Labels From Label Planet

July 11th, 2018

Label Planet Labels Logo

If you’re looking for self adhesive labels you can use in the great outdoors, why not try our waterproof labels. They’re ideal for traditional British summers (with plenty of rain) as well as not-so-traditional summers like this one!

Why Are Waterproof Labels Perfect For Outdoor Applications?

The main benefit of using waterproof labels for outdoor applications is because they offer protection against water and similar substances. This is especially useful in typical British summers, which tend to involve a lot of inconvenient rain.

Given that this year, we’ve experienced some of the hottest (and driest) weather on record, we thought it was time to acknowledge some of the other benefits of using waterproof labels.

Waterproof labels are made using synthetic materials such as plastics. These materials offer a wide range of characteristics and properties that make them highly versatile and well-suited to more challenging environments.

For example, they tend to be a lot more durable and long lasting than other materials, especially paper labels. They also tend to be stronger and more stable, which is particularly useful outside where environmental factors are likely to change and fluctuate over time. Other materials are more likely to deteriorate quickly in such conditions, making sticky labels illegible or causing their adhesive bond to fail (so they fall off).

Synthetic materials also tend to offer greater resistance to damage from environmental factors such as moisture, solvents, oils, chemicals, oxidation, ionising radiation, abrasion, extreme and/or fluctuating temperatures, and light (including UV light).

What Kinds Of Waterproof Labels Are Available From Label Planet?

We supply a range of waterproof labels to help you find the perfect finish for your project. We have options for laser labels, inkjet labels, matt labels, gloss labels, white labels, silver labels, transparent labels, permanent labels, and removable labels.

RANGE FINISH COLOUR MATERIAL ADHESIVE PRINTER
MTP Matt Transparent Polyester Permanent Laser
GTP Gloss Transparent Polyester Permanent Laser
GTR Gloss Transparent Polyester Removable Laser
GCP Gloss Transparent Polyester Permanent Inkjet *
SMP Matt Silver Polyester Permanent Laser
GWP Gloss White Polyester Permanent Laser
MWP Matt White Polyester Marine Permanent Laser
MWR Matt White Polyester Removable Laser
MWPE Matt (Off) White Polyethylene Marine Permanent Laser & Inkjet
MWPO Matt White Polyolefin Marine Permanent Laser & Inkjet

Three of our waterproof labels have a marine permanent adhesive. This adhesive has met the requirements of the BS5609 part 2 standard for use in marine (outdoor conditions). This internationally recognised standard requires products to undergo a series of tests, including submersion in seawater for three months.

Designed for labelling chemical drums that are to be shipped overseas (where contents must be identifiable even if the drums fall overboard), these are some of our toughest self adhesive labels – making them perfect for outdoor applications.

* Please note that our GCP labels are waterproof. However, if you print them with standard water-based inkjet inks, your print will not be waterproof and will run or smudge when wet.

How Do You Print Waterproof Labels So They Have Waterproof Print?

All of our waterproof labels are – surprisingly – waterproof labels. Or, in other words, all of the materials used to make these sticky labels are waterproof. If you want PRINTED waterproof labels, however, it’s not always so straightforward.

Our waterproof laser labels are perfect for creating printed waterproof labels. Laser printers use a dry printing process (involving heat and pressure) to bond a dry powder (called toner) onto your sticky labels, which results in waterproof print.

Waterproof inkjet labels are a little more tricky. Standard inkjet inks are water-based and will run or smudge when wet. To create waterproof inkjet labels you either have to:

  1. Purchase waterproof inks that are not water-based.
  2. Add a protective layer over your print. For example, you could apply a transparent label over your print OR by use a sealant spray.

This is why the majority of our waterproof labels are laser labels. HOWEVER…

NEW WATERPROOF LABELS COMING SOON

…We will soon be introducing a brand new range called MWPP. These are waterproof labels for use with inkjet printers. These inkjet labels are made from polypropylene and a special top coating, which allows your printing inks to dry quickly and efficiently onto your labels AND acts as a protective (and waterproof) barrier over your print.

We have some stock available to supply as samples. Simply get in touch with our Customer Service Team and request a sample of MWPP.

Label Planet’s Top Tips For Labelling Bottles & Jars

July 4th, 2018

Many of our customers use our sticky labels as bottle labels and jar labels for all sorts of products. From homemade treats to cosmetics products, all of these customers need to make sure that important information about their products is clearly displayed on each container. Whether they contain branding information, contact information, ingredient lists, instructions for use, or health and safety warnings, these product labels need to stay firmly stuck for as long as they are needed.

Some struggle to pick a label size so we’ve gathered together our top tips for labelling bottles and jars.

bottle labels and jar labels - product labels

One label or two (or three)?

The first thing to consider is how many sticky labels to use on your bottles and jars.

A lot of people decide that they just want one product label. This saves time designing, printing, and applying your bottle labels and jar labels BUT it can create problems, such as…

  • Cramming all of your information onto one product label can look untidy and makes it harder to read the information. If you use large or wraparound labels, customers may end up missing information unless they rotate the container.
  • If your containers are quite small, the curved surface can make it harder for adhesives to form a successful bond. You may need to use a stronger adhesive or more flexible material to make sure your sticky labels stay stuck. Alternatively, you might try long, thin wraparound labels – so you can overlap the ends to help them stay stuck. While this can be an effective solution, it also makes the labels tricky to apply, harder to read, and they cover up more of your containers.

Instead, you may want to try splitting your information over two or more labels. Try creating “front” and “back” bottle labels or “lid”, “side”, and “bottom” labels for jars.

How much space is available for your bottle labels and jar labels?

Customers often ask us to recommend a label size for their bottles and jars – usually based on the volume that the containers hold. Unfortunately, this information is completely useless.

The way to choose a label size is to first look at the shaping of your bottles or jars. Product labels work best on flat surfaces OR on surfaces with regular shaping (like the curve of a bottle or jar). If you apply sticky labels over containers with irregular shaping (e.g. ridges or narrowing/widening shaping), they may start to peel away or won’t stick down properly at all.

This is because adhesive bonds are stronger when they form over a larger (regular) surface area. If you apply product labels onto a flat surface, your adhesive creates a bond over a larger surface area. If your surface has irregularities that create gaps between your container and your sticky labels, you will end up with a weaker adhesive bond.

Once you have identified the areas on your bottles and jars that are suitable for applying product labels, you need to measure the width and height of the available surface area. This will give you an idea of the label size that you should use for your containers.

We also recommending typing out the information that you want to include on your product labels. This helps you to choose a size that allows your design to fit (without resorting to tiny font sizes).

There is no standard “bottle or jar label size” because bottles and jars come in all shapes and sizes. It’s up to you to decide how much information you want to include on your containers. Then you need to choose how many sticky labels to use. Finally, you need to work out where you can apply sticky labels and measure the available space.

Get All Your Summer Treats Labelled With Bottle Labels And Jar Labels From Label Planet

June 27th, 2018

Whether you’re selling food and drink as a business or simply making some home-made treats for friends and family, we’ve got the perfect sticky labels for your bottles and jars.

We’ve got bottle labels and jar labels in all shapes and sizes with material and adhesive options to suit all sorts of food and drink labelling applications.

BOTTLE LABELS AND JAR LABELS – WATERPROOF LABELS

You might be looking for bottle labels and jar labels that will remain firmly in place – print and all – even if they get a bit wet. In this case, we would recommend looking at our waterproof labels. These are all made with waterproof materials. Your sticky labels will stay stuck even if you submerge your bottles and jars in water. To ensure that the print remains in place, you will need to use a laser printer. Laser printers use a dry printing process to bond a dry powder (toner) onto your sticky labels. This results in waterproof print. Inkjet printers tend to use water-based inks, which run or smudge when wet.

Our waterproof labels are more expensive than paper labels. If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, why not try our Splashproof Labels. These are paper labels with a gloss or semi-gloss coating, which creates a light layer of protection against moisture. You can’t submerge these sticky labels in water as they are, after all, still paper labels. If lightly splashed with water, you can wipe them clean and dry.

Our range of waterproof labels includes options for white labels or transparent labels, permanent labels or removable labels, and matt labels or gloss labels – so you can find an option that suits your application and the overall style you want to create on your bottles and jars.

BOTTLE LABELS AND JAR LABELS – REMOVABLE LABELS

If you want sticky labels that you can remove without damaging your containers, you need removable labels.

We have a range of sticky labels made with removable adhesives. Removable adhesives create strong adhesive bonds that remove cleanly from a surface in one piece. So no more sticky messes of adhesive residue. We have removable paper labels, as well as removable transparent labels, and removable white waterproof labels.

Alternatively, you may want to try our Water Wash Off Labels. These paper labels are made with a special permanent adhesive. This adhesive creates strong adhesive bonds that break down when you wash labelled items (ideally in warm soapy water). Wash off adhesives let you safely and securely label containers without worrying about the sticky labels falling off too soon OR about them damaging your containers when you try to remove each label.

Our removable labels can be handwritten or printed using a standard desktop printer. If you choose removable transparent labels or removable white waterproof labels, you need to use a laser printer.

BOTTLE LABELS AND JAR LABELS – FREEZER LABELS

You might be labelling bottles and jars that contain foodstuff that need to be stored in a freezer. Standard adhesives will often fail in freezing conditions. We supply a range of freezer labels, which are made with a special deep freeze adhesive. Designed for deep freeze conditions, this adhesive can form and sustain successful adhesive bonds in temperatures as low as -40°C.

Our freezer labels are made with standard matt white paper and may be handwritten or printed with a laser printer.

BOTTLE LABELS AND JAR LABELS – TRANSPARENT LABELS

Finally, if you’re looking for sticky labels to match transparent bottles and jars, we have a variety of transparent labels. Using transparent labels on transparent items can create a “floating print” effect or make it seem as though your printed design is actually part of your containers.

Our range of transparent labels includes options for permanent labels and removable labels, as well as the choice between matt labels and gloss labels. You must double check if you have a laser printer or an inkjet printer available. Most of our transparent labels are laser labels and can only be printed with a laser printer.

Have A Summer Full Of Colour With Coloured Labels From Label Planet

June 20th, 2018

Tomorrow morning the summer solstice will take place, bringing with it the official start of summer. We’re celebrating with a review of all the coloured labels on offer from Label Planet.

Coloured Labels From Label Planet

We supply a variety of coloured labels. Each has its own range of colours and a certain type of adhesive and finish. If colour is an important part of your project, we recommend using our sample request service to see if our coloured labels fit your colour scheme.

COLOURED LABELS

Whether you’re looking to colour code stuff or simply brighten up a project with colourful labels, our pastel coloured labels are a brilliant way to add a subtle bloom of colour. You can handwrite or print these sticky labels using an inkjet or laser printer. We supply 69 different label sizes with 20 stocked in 25 sheet packs, 18 stocked in 100 sheet boxes, and the rest available to order in 500 sheet boxes.

We offer a range of SEVEN pastel colours; blue labels, orange red labels, yellow labels, green labels, crimson red labels, cream labels, and pink labels.

They have a standard permanent adhesive, which bonds well with most materials and surfaces. Coloured labels are both practical and decorative additions to any project. They instantly add a touch of decoration to any item, as well as having more practical benefits – especially if you need to colour code items or draw attention to important information. Our coloured labels are especially popular for use as product labels and packaging labels, address labels for special events, name labels for parties or networking events, gift tags, school labels and reward stickers, stock labels for rotation and stock management, and fun stickers for arts and crafts projects.

We also supply a range of brown Kraft labels; this range includes 54 label sizes and is also suitable for handwriting or printing with a laser or inkjet printer. Our Kraft labels have a natural brown colouring, while the ribbed finish adds a subtle touch of pattern and texture.

REMOVABLE COLOURED LABELS

If you’re looking for temporary coloured labels, you may want to take a look at our coloured removable labels (REMC). This range is the same as our coloured labels, except it features a removable adhesive instead of a permanent adhesive. Removable adhesives keep your coloured labels in place and don’t leave behind adhesive residue when you remove each label.

Removable coloured labels are a brilliant way to temporarily colour code stuff. They are especially popular with removal companies, manufacturers and storage facilities, auction houses, gift suppliers, and for general purpose organising and filing systems.

These products are made to order in boxes of 500 sheets and take up to five working days to be despatched after you order.

If you don’t need this many, you could try purchasing coloured labels and removable labels. Apply your coloured labels onto the removable labels to create coloured labels with a removable adhesive. Alternatively, you could purchase removable labels and add a colour coded element to your design.

FLUORESCENT LABELS

For those looking for a brighter burst of colour, our fluorescent labels range should do the trick. We have five neon colours; fluorescent red labels, fluorescent lemon / yellow labels, fluorescent orange labels, fluorescent green labels, and fluorescent magenta labels.

Fluorescent labels have a standard permanent adhesive and can be printed with laser printers or handwritten. We supply 66 label sizes in this range, including 8 sizes supplied in 25 sheet packs, 19 sizes available in 100 sheet packs, and a further 39 made to order sizes (available in 500 sheet boxes).

Fluorescent labels add a burst of colour that is hard to ignore. This makes these sticky labels especially popular when you need to highlight important information or really catch someone’s eye. Our fluorescent labels are often used as address labels and shipping labels, gift tags, marketing labels and promotional labels, information signs and warning notices, and as fun stickers for parties, events, or displays.

GOLD LABELS & SILVER LABELS

If you’re after a more luxurious look, our gold labels and silver labels add a subtle shimmer to any application. Each range contains 54 label sizes with 9 stocked in 25 sheet packs and the rest available to order in 500 sheet boxes.

All of our metallic labels are have standard permanent adhesives and an attractive satin gold finish. Made by applying a decorative gold coating onto clay-coated paper, our metallic labels have a beautifully smooth and bright surface.

You can handwrite or print your gold labels and silver labels using a laser printer. They are especially popular for use as marketing labels and promotional labels, as product labels and packaging labels on high value or gift items, or as address labels or gift tags on items that are intended to celebrate a special event or holiday. For example, they are often used as wedding labels and Christmas labels.

We also supply sets of metallic coloured star stickers. These sticky stars are available in three colours; gold, silver, and bronze. Each A4 sheet contains 280 stars measuring 12.7mm wide.
