Tips For Tackling Your Christmas Card List

It’s that time of year again when the less than organised amongst us (which, if the rest of the world is like our office, is just about everyone) are struggling with Christmas card lists. Picking the size and style of address label you want might be simple enough, but it can be quite daunting trying to get them printed – particularly if you’ve never printed labels before or if you’ve got a lot of addresses to get through.

We have templates available on our website; all you need to do is add in your addresses.

We’ve also got a couple of alternative ways to create address labels, which might just come in handy:

1. Got a Long List? Use Mail Merge.
If you’ve got a long, long list, then the Mail Merge function is the tool for you.
You can keep your address records organised in an Excel spreadsheet and then import them into Word.
If you’re not particularly confident adding information into a Word template, you can use the Mail Merge Wizard and follow the step by step instructions to create the perfect labels.

2. Worried About Printing? Why Not Return To The Handwritten Approach.
If you are worried about printing your own labels and simply don’t feel confident getting them to work, why not pick out some bright and decorative labels and then hand-write the addresses for a personal and stylish look. You don’t have to be a calligraphy expert and simply taking the time to write your labels is the perfect personal finishing touch for your Christmas cards. You can write on all of our paper labels with any kind of pen, and our special materials can also be written on – although you may need to find a permanent marker or pen with permanent ink.

This email shows your Order Id, Billing Address, Delivery Address, Contact Details, Shipping Method, the details of the item(s) you have ordered, and the total cost of your order.

As a little bit extra, this email also includes a link to our Review Page (so you can let us know what you think of your order), our Facebook Page (so you can find out more about everything Label Planet), and a link to the item(s) you have ordered – this way you can make sure you have ordered exactly the right product for your project, double check the properties and specifications of your labels, or you can go straight to the right page when you want to re-order – especially useful if you can’t remember which particular label or labels you have ordered before.

Payment Provider Your Payment Was Successful This email is sent by one of our payment providers (Sagepay & PayPal) to confirm that they have been able to process your payment correctly.

These emails are sent directly from the payment providers themselves and are for your information only – we don’t send these emails nor do we see their contents; they are simply to let you know that your payment has been successful and for you to keep for your records if you wish to do so.

Again, please double check that the details are correct. You will receive an email from the payment provider that you selected when going through the Checkout.

Label Planet Order Status Updated Success! This email means that we have processed your order.

Stocked items (packs of 25 sheets) will have been packed up ready for same day despatch via Royal Mail’s first class service or a next working day carrier (depending on the total quantity of your order).

Orders of 500+ sheets will either be despatched via a next working day carrier service (paper labels with standard adhesive) or will be made to order and despatched within five working days (special adhesives and materials).

These emails are automatically generated at each stage of your order and are an easy way to keep track of what you have ordered from Label Planet.

Labels Aren’t Just For Christmas (Cards)…

It’s that time of year when the Christmas-related orders are flowing in and the majority will be used to label items that are being sent in the post for Christmas.

We have a wide variety of Address and Shipping Labels (which can be found here), but we wanted to remind our customers of some of the other ways in which our labels can be the perfect addition for Christmas.

Why not try using labels as:

DIY GIFT TAGS ON PRESENTS
– Instead of buying pre-designed tags or fiddling around with double sided tape or string to attach your gift tags, why not print your own gift labels that simply peel off a sheet and stick neatly onto your gifts. You can design your own tags with any messages or images that you want to use. Where pre-designed tags are only available in a set number of a set design (or designs), you can create as many labels as you need and you can personalise each and every one of them – creating the perfect personal touch for your gifts.

SEALS ON PRESENTS AND GIFT BAGS
– Try using labels as seals to help make sure your gifts stay firmly wrapped up and avoid early surprises. Christmas Posting Dates for 2013

Yes, December is officially here, which means Christmas is almost upon us – but so too are the Royal Mail’s last posting dates.

With the return of the rush to get everything ordered, posted and delivered before Christmas, we just wanted to remind our customers that delays are possible and it is increasingly important to make sure you get your labels ordered as early as possible. We advise customers to consider adding a next working day shipping option where available to avoid disappointment if orders are required urgently. In particular, if you want labels for items you will be posting out yourself for delivery before Christmas, you need to place your order as early as possible so you have enough time to receive your labels, print and apply them to your items, and get your items posted before the last posting dates.

So, here are those all important dates:
18th December: second class post
19th December: tracked second class post
20th December: first class post (this is our standard UK delivery service)
21st December: tracked first class post
23rd December: next working day guaranteed post

PLEASE NOTE that first and second class post (whether tracked or not) are NOT guaranteed services and may be subject to delays. If you want to GUARANTEE your delivery then you will need to add a special delivery option (if available).
