Get Your Family Crafting This Summer With Some Brilliantly Bright Labels From Label Planet

Thursday, July 28th, 2016

The summer holidays are the perfect time to get creative and encourage your children to try their hand at new things, including having a go at arts and crafts projects. Here at Label Planet, we have a whole range of colourful labels that can be put to use in all kinds of ways, whether you’re looking for extra craft materials to inspire your children with or you’ve got a particular project in mind.

For example, you might be looking at taking on a family project that’s fun but will also come in useful; whether you’re making collages or creating homemade photo albums, trying to get organised by encouraging your children to design their own labels to organise their stuff, having a go at making your own stationery for general use or for a special event happening over the summer (such as a birthday party), or maybe even having some fun designing homemade gifts for friends and family.

We’ve got all sorts of different labels but we have a few firm favourites that we think would be the perfect addition or starting point for any family crafts that you’re planning this summer:

Coloured Labels
Add a brilliant burst of colour to your summer projects with our range of coloured labels; we’ve got pastel shades for a more subtle finish, big and bold fluorescents to rival the summer sun (when it appears!), and shimmering gold and silver options for a delightfully bright finish. All of these labels can be written on or cut to shape and you can also put them through your standard desktop printer at home (please note: while our pastel coloured labels can be printed with laser or inkjet printers, our fluorescents and metallics can only be printed with a laser printer).

Kraft Labels
The clue is right in the name! These wonderfully decorative labels are made with brown Kraft paper (a common favourite in the world of arts and crafts), which has a ribbed finish to add a brilliantly light touch of pattern and texture. A great addition to any crafting kit, these labels are extremely popular for use as homemade stationery or as part of homemade gifts and cards.

Transparent Labels
These versatile labels can be used as a crafty addition to any project but are a particularly popular choice for creating homemade window stickers. Your children can create their very own unique designs to stick up in their room (and, if you’re not particularly keen on the idea of PERMANENT stickers, we would recommend taking a look at our Removable Transparent labels, which can be taken down without doing any damage to your windows and walls (and doors and floors) in the process).

You could also try out our Gloss Clear Labels, which can be used to make your own transparent “white boards”; simply stick these labels onto a background surface and your children can write (or draw) on them with white board markers before wiping them clean and starting again!

To find the perfect size of label for your summer projects in any of the options listed above, simply visit the range page for your chosen material to see what’s on offer (Coloured Labels, Kraft Labels, Transparent Labels); alternatively, if you’re looking for even more inspiration, head on over to our “List of All Labels” page to find out more about ALL of the different label materials available from Label Planet! If you want to print any of the labels you buy from us, visit our Template Section to download a template and start designing!

Get Creative With Labels & Have Some Crafty Fun This Summer

Tuesday, August 11th, 2015

With the summer holidays in full swing, you might be on a mission to get your kids to be more active and more creative. If you’re trying to inspire your children to try out their artistic skills, why not try getting crafty with labels from Label Planet.

We’ve got all kinds of labels and kids can have fun trying out their own designs, whether you’re looking for a project that’s just a bit of fun or you want something that’s fun but with a useful side.

Whether your children are interested in design of the digital kind or you’re looking for a more traditional paper-based arts and crafts deal, labels are a perfect tool for getting creative. Children can design their own labels or use them as part of a bigger project, whether it’s making their own stationery, putting together collages or photo albums, or simply getting together as many different bits and pieces (from paints and crayons to the good old glitter and glue combo) as they can and making a big old mess!

If you’re looking for a more practical project, you could get your children to come up with their own designs for labels to keep track of their stuff, such as personalised name labels for all their school books, labels that you can use around the home, or labels to help keep their bedrooms organised (or more organised than they might otherwise be).

So, why not take a look through some of the options we have and let your imagination run wild!

Coloured Labels
What’s a summer project without a bit of colour?! We’ve got all kinds of colours, including six pastel colours, five fluorescent colours, and a brilliant gold and silver, all of which can be printed or handwritten.

Kraft Labels
The craftiest craft label of them all! These labels are made of a brown craft paper with a ribbed pattern, which gives them a lovely natural, decorative appearance that is highly popular with crafty people of all kinds. If your child wants to make their own stationery, these labels are a perfect addition to their craft kits.

Transparent Labels
Why not let your children create their very own window stickers to put up in their room; our GTR labels are made with a removable adhesive so there’ll be no mess when your children (or you) decide it’s time to take them down.

You might also want to try our GCP labels, which can be used as transparent “white boards” – these labels can be used for endless games of noughts and crosses or hangman, or you can simply give your children white board markers and let them occupy themselves by scribbling away before wiping out what they’ve done and starting all over again!

Back to School Supplies

Wednesday, August 28th, 2013

The new school year is nearly here for children up and down the country. More importantly, it also means parents are running the usual gauntlet of Back to School shopping!

Purchasing all of the items your children will need at school can quickly become very expensive so why not consider some labels from Label Planet, that can be used to label items such as books and stationery, to help prevent losses (and the need to buy replacements).

We supply blank labels on A4 sheets that can be printed using your own laser or inkjet printer at home – meaning you (or your children!) can create your own bespoke labels, with any text or images that you like.

We have a variety of options available, including six pastel colours, five fluorescent colours, as well as gold and silver.

And, of course, if you’re looking for name labels that can be used to label clothing, shoes and bags, lunch boxes and water bottles, P.E. kits and equipment, and books and stationery, why not try our Stikins name labels – available from

If you need to guarantee delivery, to make sure your order arrives in time, we offer the option to add a Next Day Delivery Service to your order in the checkout (Label Planet orders) or you can call to request this service on 01270 668076 (Label Planet & Stikins Name Label orders).

How to use GCP as a transparent White Board

Tuesday, August 6th, 2013

We’ve had a couple of enquiries recently from people who were looking for a product that they could use with dry whiteboard marker pens – that could be written on and then wiped clean and re-used – and we decided to put our labels to the test.

We picked up some dry white board marker pens and got scribbling on all of our polyester materials. We weren’t sure if ANY of them would work, but the GLOSS CLEAR POLYESTER LABELS (GCP) took us by surprise by acting just like a white board. The erasable ink sits on the gloss surface of these polyester labels and can be removed with the tip of a finger or the corner of a tissue – no water required!

To make your very own white board, all you need to do is apply one of these labels to a surface and get writing!

They make a perfect toy (or should that be distraction?) for children, who can draw or play games such as noughts and crosses or hangman over and over again. They can be used as an educational tool in schools, as indicators of stock levels that can be adjusted or rewritten accordingly, or as part of filing systems that need to be updated regularly. They’re also, as we’ve discovered, quite the fun distraction in the office – although you could, of course, use them in a more serious capacity – perhaps as an office noteboard or planner to keep track of ongoing projects and deadlines, dates for the diary, or notices. They’re also a great way to make temporary name labels, signs, notices, or general purpose labels that can be written out then erased or amended as needed.

You can find out more, view the sizes available, or order your Gloss Clear Polyester Labels from our website, here.

Fluorescent Round Labels – The Brightest Circles Around!

Thursday, July 4th, 2013

Our circular labels in fluorescent colours are the perfect way to add a burst of colour to whatever you need to label. Whether you want to make something stand out, make people take notice, or just need a decorative label that adds a bright finishing touch, these circles are the brightest around.

We have twelve different sizes to choose from, and all of these sizes are available in four different fluorescent colours; Red, Orange, Green, and Lemon. Six of these sizes are also available in a daring Magenta shade that is sure to dazzle.

These bright circles are a great way to add important information on a label that draws the eye to wherever you need it to be. They are great for displaying product information, sale prices and promotions, important directions or instructions, or brand and contact information. They can even be left blank and used as fun seals on products and bags.

They’re also great for schools and parents who use stickers to reward good behaviour and achievements. These labels can be used as blank stickers to indicate how well a child is doing or how close they are to earning a reward, or they can be printed with positive messages such as “Well Done”.

You can view the options available, find out more, or buy your fluorescent labels on our new Round Fluorescent Labels range page.
[Of course, if you’d prefer a slightly demurer shade, you can always opt for one of our pastel colour options, available here.]

End Of The School Year – Reward Stickers

Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013

Many schools offer prizes and rewards at the end of the school year to pupils who have made significant achievements during that particular year. As part of this, schools often give out certificates and rewards. Here at Label Planet we have a number of labels that can be used to decorate or label these rewards with the pupil’s name and/or the details of their achievement.

For example, schools can use our Gold or Silver labels to decorate certificates with an “official” stamp or mark of excellence. They can also denote levels of achievement through awarding either a gold or silver certificate. For a fun, bright alternative, schools can use our Coloured or Fluorescent labels to brighten up certificates for their pupils, or even create stickers with positive and rewarding messages for all of their pupils to congratulate them on all of their achievements over the past year.

Rewards For Success – Gold & Silver Labels

Thursday, May 9th, 2013

Parents and schools often use reward systems to encourage good behaviour and progress in their children/pupils. A common part of these schemes is the use of stickers. They can either be given as rewards in themselves or used on charts to mark a child’s progress towards achieving pre-determined targets, which will earn them a bigger reward once they are achieved.

Our gold and silver labels are ideal rewards. These labels have a bright and shiny semi-gloss finish, which makes them really stand out as a marker that a child has done well – whether they’ve successfully completed a piece of homework, done all their chores for the week, or simply behaved themselves! Our gold and silver labels can either be given out as blank labels or can be printed with encouraging messages or a note about the target that has been met to earn that sticker. If they are being used to track progress towards one particular target, they can be numbered so that a child can check for themselves how many steps they have achieved – and how many they have left to go.

We have eight sizes of gold and silver labels – our circular labels are particularly popular as reward stickers. In fact, we’ve even been known to use them ourselves in the office!!!

You can find out more or buy these labels from our website. Click here to view our Gold Labels or click here to view our Silver Labels.
