How Removable Labels Help You Avoid A Big Sticky Mess

Wednesday, August 1st, 2018

Removable labels are this week’s sticky issue. Find out how they work and why they help you remove sticky labels without getting in a sticky mess.

What Are Removable Labels & Removable Adhesives?

The name is a bit confusing because pretty much any self adhesive label can be removed – if you try hard enough. Removable labels, however, are designed specifically to be removed. They form adhesive bonds that hold your sticky labels in place but don’t leave behind adhesive residue when you remove your sticky labels.

Removable labels create temporary self adhesive labels. You may only need to label items for a specific length of time. Alternatively, if the information displayed on your labels needs to be updated, you may need sticky labels that are easy to replace.

How Do Removable Adhesives Work?

Like permanent adhesives, removable adhesives create an adhesive bond with a surface. Where they differ is how they behave when removing a sticky label.

To remove a permanent label by physical force alone, you have to apply enough force to break apart the adhesive layer. This often makes it difficult to remove the label in one piece (especially paper labels, which tend to tear apart) and leaves behind adhesive residue.

This is because permanent adhesives have excellent adhesion and cohesion. Adhesion is the strength of the adhesive bond with another surface, while cohesion is the internal strength of the adhesive bond itself.

Removable adhesives, therefore, tend to have high cohesion but lower adhesion. This means the internal strength of the adhesive bond is stronger than the external bond with a surface. When you remove a label, the adhesive layer remains in one piece (leaving no residue behind).

Most pressure sensitive (self-adhesive) removable adhesives work this way. Alternative methods rely on applying an external agent to permanent adhesives in order to break down the adhesive bond. One example is our Water Wash Off Labels, which have a permanent adhesive that breaks down when exposed to water. You can remove your permanent labels from labelled items simply by  giving them a good wash.

Get All Your Summer Treats Labelled With Bottle Labels And Jar Labels From Label Planet

Wednesday, June 27th, 2018

Whether you’re selling food and drink as a business or simply making some home-made treats for friends and family, we’ve got the perfect sticky labels for your bottles and jars.

We’ve got bottle labels and jar labels in all shapes and sizes with material and adhesive options to suit all sorts of food and drink labelling applications.

BOTTLE LABELS AND JAR LABELS – WATERPROOF LABELS

You might be looking for bottle labels and jar labels that will remain firmly in place – print and all – even if they get a bit wet. In this case, we would recommend looking at our waterproof labels. These are all made with waterproof materials. Your sticky labels will stay stuck even if you submerge your bottles and jars in water. To ensure that the print remains in place, you will need to use a laser printer. Laser printers use a dry printing process to bond a dry powder (toner) onto your sticky labels. This results in waterproof print. Inkjet printers tend to use water-based inks, which run or smudge when wet.

Our waterproof labels are more expensive than paper labels. If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, why not try our Splashproof Labels. These are paper labels with a gloss or semi-gloss coating, which creates a light layer of protection against moisture. You can’t submerge these sticky labels in water as they are, after all, still paper labels. If lightly splashed with water, you can wipe them clean and dry.

Our range of waterproof labels includes options for white labels or transparent labels, permanent labels or removable labels, and matt labels or gloss labels – so you can find an option that suits your application and the overall style you want to create on your bottles and jars.

BOTTLE LABELS AND JAR LABELS – REMOVABLE LABELS

If you want sticky labels that you can remove without damaging your containers, you need removable labels.

We have a range of sticky labels made with removable adhesives. Removable adhesives create strong adhesive bonds that remove cleanly from a surface in one piece. So no more sticky messes of adhesive residue. We have removable paper labels, as well as removable transparent labels, and removable white waterproof labels.

Alternatively, you may want to try our Water Wash Off Labels. These paper labels are made with a special permanent adhesive. This adhesive creates strong adhesive bonds that break down when you wash labelled items (ideally in warm soapy water). Wash off adhesives let you safely and securely label containers without worrying about the sticky labels falling off too soon OR about them damaging your containers when you try to remove each label.

Our removable labels can be handwritten or printed using a standard desktop printer. If you choose removable transparent labels or removable white waterproof labels, you need to use a laser printer.

BOTTLE LABELS AND JAR LABELS – FREEZER LABELS

You might be labelling bottles and jars that contain foodstuff that need to be stored in a freezer. Standard adhesives will often fail in freezing conditions. We supply a range of freezer labels, which are made with a special deep freeze adhesive. Designed for deep freeze conditions, this adhesive can form and sustain successful adhesive bonds in temperatures as low as -40°C.

Our freezer labels are made with standard matt white paper and may be handwritten or printed with a laser printer.

BOTTLE LABELS AND JAR LABELS – TRANSPARENT LABELS

Finally, if you’re looking for sticky labels to match transparent bottles and jars, we have a variety of transparent labels. Using transparent labels on transparent items can create a “floating print” effect or make it seem as though your printed design is actually part of your containers.

Our range of transparent labels includes options for permanent labels and removable labels, as well as the choice between matt labels and gloss labels. You must double check if you have a laser printer or an inkjet printer available. Most of our transparent labels are laser labels and can only be printed with a laser printer.

Label Planet’s Guide To Choosing The Right Adhesive Labels

A Handy Flowchart To Help You Choose The Perfect Adhesive Labels

We supply THIRTY ranges of self adhesive labels giving you a choice of TEN different types of adhesive. This many choices can be confusing – especially if you need sticky labels for very specific circumstances.

So, we’ve pooled our knowledge of self adhesive labels to create a simple flowchart. This chart will guide you towards the adhesive labels that are right for your label application.

You simply need to answer TWO basic questions to find out the type of adhesive that you should choose.

Label Planet Guide To Adhesives

The (Inevitable) Exception To The Rule Of Choosing The Perfect Adhesive

There is an exception to this rule and that is temporary labels to stick onto clothing or fabric items. For example, you might want product labels for clothing or fabric items that can be removed without damaging those items after they have been sold. Alternatively, you might be hosting a networking event and want to hand out temporary name badges or you could be hosting a charity event or open day and want to give people stickers to reward their participation. Either way, your sticky labels mustn’t ruin people’s clothing at the end of the event.

In this case, we recommend a standard permanent adhesive instead of a removable adhesive. This is because fabrics have unusual and varied surfaces that can be difficult for removable adhesives to bond with properly. Permanent adhesives have the extra strength to ensure your adhesive labels remain in place BUT they won’t form a solid bond, which means they can be safely removed from clothing.

Next Steps: Request A Sample Or Place An Order For Your Adhesive Labels

Once you’ve found the right adhesive labels for your labelling application you can request a sample or place an order. Our free sample service means you can make sure that you’ve really got the right adhesive for your application before you go ahead and place an order.

FAQs – Which Label Adhesive Should I Choose?

Wednesday, June 28th, 2017

Visitors to our website may have noticed that we offer a range of label adhesives to suit a range of label applications; while this should provide our customers with the perfect label for their unique requirements, it can be a bit tricky to make sure you’ve chosen the right one – particularly if you don’t really know very much about adhesives.

With this in mind, we’ve put together a flowchart to help guide you in the right direction when it comes to choosing the right adhesive for you. Simply follow the arrows and answer TWO easy questions to find out what kind of label adhesive is best suited to your needs.

The one exception to the first question is short term label applications that involve temporarily applying labels onto clothing (e.g. name badges worn for a networking event). In this case, we would recommend using a standard permanent adhesive; fabrics have very unusual surfaces that removable adhesives will struggle to bond with properly, while permanent adhesives will have enough strength to hold your labels in place but won’t form a solid and even bond – allowing them to be safely removed from clothing.

Remember, if you’re still not sure, you can always Request A Sample to try a few different products for yourself to make absolutely sure that they’ll do the job that you need them to do. Simply fill in our online Sample Request Form or get in touch with our Customer Service Team.

The Language Of Labels – A Quickfire Guide To Our Label Categories

Monday, January 30th, 2017

At Label Planet, we often group our labels into categories based on specific qualities and many of our product ranges take their names from the qualities that those labels possess. If you’re new to the world of labels, however, it can be a bit confusing if you aren’t sure what some (or all) of these terms mean – or at least what they mean in the specific world of labels and labelling. This short guide should help to make it clear what we mean when we use the following terms to describe our labels:

Permanent:
We use the word permanent to refer to labels that are made with a permanent adhesive; permanent adhesives are designed to create a strong bond between a label and an object that is difficult to break. It does NOT mean that these labels are impossible to remove; if someone is determined enough to remove a permanent label they will be able to do so (albeit with a serious amount of intent and effort and the likely result that both the label itself and the labelled item will be damaged in the process).

High Tack:
This refers to labels that are made with extremely strong, permanent adhesives; “tack” refers to the property of materials that allows them to adhere to a surface immediately upon contact – in other words, it describes how “sticky” a material is in a fluid or semi-fluid state. High tack labels, therefore, are highly sticky labels!

Removable:
We use the term removable to refer to labels that are made with a removable adhesive; removable adhesives are designed to create a bond between a label and an object so that the label can be removed cleanly and easily (without doing any damage or leaving behind any adhesive residue) when it is no longer needed. For this reason, removable labels may also be called “Temporary Labels”.

Finish:
This term refers to the qualities and properties of a material’s surface, including its appearance and texture. We supply three types of finish:

  • Gloss: gloss surfaces are generally very smooth and are highly efficient at reflecting light, which produces a decorative bright and shiny appearance.
  • Matt: matt surfaces are very poor at reflecting light, which creates a dull and non-shiny appearance.
  • Semi-Gloss: as a compromise between gloss and matt, semi-gloss surfaces do reflect light (but less efficiently than full gloss surfaces), which creates a more subtle shine.

Opaque:
Opaque materials do not transmit light; light cannot travel through these materials, which means that opaque materials cannot be seen through. Opaque materials are used to create “Blockout” labels that will prevent any existing print or design work from showing through a label, even if it is applied to a highly decorative surface. They are ideal for covering up existing print, recycling packaging, covering up errors, or simply to create a completely blank background onto which a new design or print can be added.

Transparent:
Transparent materials are extremely efficient at transmitting light; light travels through these materials, which means that you can see through transparent materials. Our transparent labels are not 100% transparent because they use an adhesive, which means that they may trap small air bubbles or particles of dust during application. Please note that we also use the term “clear” to refer to transparent materials.
If a material only transmits some light, then it will not be completely transparent – these labels are usually known as Transluscent or Frosted labels.

Waterproof:
Waterproof materials can survive exposure to or immersion in water – which means our waterproof labels are the best option to choose if you need labels for an application that may involve water, for example outdoor labels or labels for use on items that will be stored and used in kitchens or bathrooms.

Splashproof:
This is a term that we use to describe our GW (gloss laser labels) and SG (semi-gloss laser labels); both of these products are paper labels, which means that they are not waterproof BUT the coatings applied to these labels to give them their gloss and semi-gloss finishes do provide limited protection if the labels are lightly splashed with water or get slightly dirty (hence splashproof). These labels provide a compromise between using standard paper labels (with no protection against water damage) and our synthetic labels (which are completely waterproof) – especially if you need to work within a limited budget.

Compatible:
Essentially, when we describe one of our labels as being “compatible” with a label product from a different company, we mean that the label size and layout (but not the materials used to make the labels) are the same for our labels as they are for the other product. For example, many of our label products are described as “Avery Compatible” and we provide “Compatible Avery Template Codes” for customers to use when printing their labels. All this means is that the label size and layout of our labels is the same as those of Avery labels and you can therefore use the same template to print both our labels and Avery labels.

Special Use:
Also known as “Media Labels”, these labels are a group of products that were each originally created to suit a specific purpose but can also be used for a wider range of label applications. They tend to be sizes that were designed for use on storage devices and folders, such as CDs and DVDs, box files and lever arch files, or videos and data cartridges.

Plastic:
Plastic is a general term that can be used to describe any synthetic material made from a wide range of organic polymers. We have three plastic materials; polyester, polyethylene, and vinyl (our Tamper Evident Vinyl). When we use the term “Plastic labels”, we are referring to our polyester and polyethylene (and vinyl) labels.

Tamper Evident:
A type of security label; security labels are labels with special features that are designed to improve the security of the items they are used to label. Tamper evident labels have features that allow them to provide visual evidence that someone has tampered with an item. We have TWO tamper evident labels; our Silver Void Labels leave the message “VOID” behind when they are removed from an item, while our Tamper Evident Vinyl Labels will disintegrate into tiny pieces if someone attempts to remove them.

You can find even more label terms (along with their definitions) in our online Glossary. If you have any questions or queries about what a particular term means or if you need any assistance choosing the right label for your specific label application, you can get in touch with our Customer Service Team by phone or email to find out more.

It’s A Sticky Business; How To Choose The Right Adhesive For The Job

Tuesday, September 13th, 2016

There are a whole heap of different types of adhesive that you can choose from because there are a whole heap of different types of label applications – each of which offers different challenges to the adhesive strength of a label.

This means that it’s really important to make sure that the adhesive you choose is the right one for your particular label application. Here at Label Planet, our adhesives range from extremely strong permanent adhesives to extremely light removable adhesives, with a few speciality options thrown in for good measure – which means we should have an adhesive to suit all kinds of applications.

Here’s a basic guide to the different adhesives we supply (and what they’re best at):

Mega Tack
This is our strongest permanent adhesive, which is designed to provide extremely strong adhesion to a large range of surfaces. If you’re looking for a label that absolutely HAS to stay on OR if you’re labelling an unusual surface or material that standard adhesives fail to stick to properly (for example, fabric samples or building materials), then this may well be the choice for you!
This adhesive is only available on matt white paper labels and is a made to order item (500 sheet minimum).

High Tack
One step down from Mega Tack, our High Tack adhesive is the most popular choice if you need a strong permanent adhesive but find that standard adhesives aren’t quite up to the job. This adhesive provides great adhesion to a range of surfaces AND meets the German BgVV standard for indirect and short term contact with dry and moist foods.
This adhesive is available on matt white paper labels.

Marine
One of our speciality adhesives; this permanent adhesive provides good adhesion on a range of surfaces AND meets the BS5609 part 2 standard for marine immersion, which means it is an ideal choice for label applications that will involve a label being exposed to or immersed in water (for example; labels on outdoor equipment, product labels on cosmetics that will be used in bathrooms etc).
This adhesive is available on both our Matt White Polyester and Matt White Polyethylene labels, which are both highly durable, waterproof labels that are perfect for use as outdoor labels.

Permanent
Our standard permanent adhesive provides a good level of adhesion to a range of surfaces, which makes it ideal for a range of general purpose label applications.
This adhesive is available on the following label ranges: standard paper, premium paper, gloss paper, gloss photo quality paper, semi-gloss paper, Kraft paper, coloured paper, fluorescent paper, gold & silver paper, gloss polyester, silver polyester, gloss transparent polyester, and matt transparent polyester.

Removable
Our standard removable adhesive provides a good level of adhesion to a range of surfaces BUT will also remove cleanly and easily once the labels are no longer needed (without leaving behind any adhesive residue), which makes this adhesive ideal for applications that require temporary labels that can be removed when they are no longer needed or become out of date.
This adhesive is available on the following label ranges: standard paper, coloured paper, gloss transparent polyester, and matt white polyester.

Super Removable
An alternative to our standard removable adhesive; this removable adhesive was specifically designed for use on delicate materials such as paper and glass, which are more easily damaged when a label is removed – this super light adhesive can be applied to even the most delicate of items before removing cleanly and easily when the labels are no longer needed. It is commonly used to create product labels on items that are delicate or are intended to be sold as gifts, as well as being used to identify lots in auction houses.
This adhesive is available on matt white paper labels.

Deep Freeze
Another speciality option, this adhesive is designed for use on items that will be stored and/or used in deep freeze conditions (such as frozen foods or medical/research samples); these labels can be stored in temperatures between -40°C to +60°C and comply with the German BgVV standard for indirect and short term contact with dry and moist foods.
This adhesive is only available on matt white paper labels and should be printed with a laser printer to ensure that the print remains legible even if the label is exposed to condensation.

Opaque
A speciality option designed to completely block out any existing design or print work on a surface when a label is applied over the top; this adhesive is ideal for labels that are being used to cover up mistakes, update information, or to recycle packaging.
This adhesive is used on our opaque paper labels.

Choosing the right adhesive is a highly important part of sourcing the best labels for your particular label application and – as with anything – testing the labels in the actual conditions you need them to work in is the best way to make absolutely sure that you’ve got the right adhesive for the job. This is why we offer a free sample request service, so you can give our labels (and their adhesives) a trial run before you place an order.

You can find out more about each of the adhesives we supply, along with the products that they are available on, by visiting our List Of Label Adhesives page; simply click on the View Products links to find out more about a label range (including what sizes are available) or to place an order. To request a sample, simply fill in our online Sample Request Form or contact our Customer Service Team to discuss your requirements.

Join In With This Year’s Summer Of Sport With Super Labels For All Your Sporting Needs

Wednesday, July 6th, 2016

With summer (sort of) underway, there are plenty of sporting events taking place across the country and around the world, which means that plenty of people will be finding their own way to participate in this year’s “summer of sport”, from fun runs to football tournaments, triathlons to tiddlywinks competitions (with the occasional food throwing or “chasing-down-a-hill” event thrown in along the way)!

If you’re organising or participating in an event this summer, we might just have a few labels that can help you get things set up!

Coloured Labels
If you’re organising tournaments or team events, we’ve got a range of coloured labels to help you get everything (and everyone) colour coded; whether you’re giving people team colours or setting up a board to keep track of which team is playing which team or which teams are still in your tournament if you’re running a knockout style event.

These labels are also a great way to create awards for winners or participation badges for everyone who steps up and takes part. You could use our Gold and Silver Metallic Labels to create certificates or badges for first and second place, or use our coloured and fluorescent coloured round labels to create badges for teams or individuals who have joined in.

Removable Labels
If you’re heading up an event with a lot of different teams or individuals taking part, you could use our Removable Labels to keep track of what is happening when, who is taking on whom, and to update your score board or tournament board as each match or event is completed (without doing any damage as you remove the old labels).

Outdoor “Weatherproof” Labels
Many sporting events will be aiming to make the most of the summer by getting out and about in the great outdoors, which means you might be looking for labels that will withstand ALL of the types of weather that go hand in hand with a “Great British Summer”. Here at Label Planet, we have a great range of waterproof labels that are perfect for taking on the challenges of being outdoors. These labels are made with polyester or polyethylene, which are tough, durable materials that are brilliant for use outside – especially as they’re all waterproof! Our Matt White Polyester and Matt White Polyethylene labels also feature a Marine Standard adhesive, which was developed specifically for use in conditions that will involve exposure to or immersion in water.

So, if you’re looking for labels to use as signage at an event or around a course, name or number badges for participants, or simply getting your equipment labelled up, why not take a look through our waterproof labels to see if there’s one that will be just right for your particular event.

To view ALL of the label products available from Label Planet (or to place an order!), take a look at our List Of All Label Materials page to get an idea of what different options are available. You can also view all of the labels we’ve mentioned in this blog post by visiting our lists of Coloured Labels, Removable Labels, and Waterproof Labels.

Labels To – Get Your Boxes & Storage Containers Sorted
If you’ve decided that the best way to get your stuff organised is to get it put into boxes, bags, and any other storage container you can find, it can be all too easy to forget what stuff you’ve put where. We Recommend: Standard Paper Labels (for a basic label), Gloss Paper Labels (for a more decorative finish), Coloured Paper Labels (for a creative finish), or High Tack Paper Labels (for use on plastic or fabric containers that standard labels may struggle to stick to).

These temporary labels are made with removable adhesives that provide enough grip while you need your labels to stay in place but then remove cleanly from the surface once they are no longer needed (without doing any damage or leaving behind any sticky adhesive residue).
We Recommend: Standard Removable Labels & Removable Coloured Labels

Labels To – Sort Out Your Digital Archive

So even if your collection includes a few old mix tapes and home videos, you’ll still be able to find the perfect label to get everything labelled up properly.
We Recommend: Media Storage Labels

Labels To – Take Control Of Your Diary
Whether you’ve got a notebook stuffed with “To-Do-Lists” or a chaotic family calendar hanging off the fridge, labels are a great way to take control and remind yourself of the big things (and little things) that you absolutely have to remember to do. Our smaller label sizes are perfect for giving yourself easy to spot reminders of important dates and “things to do”; especially our small coloured round labels, which are an ideal addition to any busy calendar or diary. You can choose between permanent labels (to make sure your reminders remain firmly in place) or removable labels (so you can update your calendar or diary as you get things crossed off your list!).
We Recommend: Pastel Coloured Paper Labels & Removable Paper Labels

Top Tips – How To Pick The Perfect Product Label

Thursday, March 10th, 2016

Product labels often have a number of important roles to play; they may carry important information about your product, carry barcodes or QR codes that contain vital tracking information, or quite simply might provide a significant opportunity to help make your products, brand, and company stand out from the crowd.

Getting the right product label is an important choice – especially if you’ve spent months or even years developing your product and you want your labels to work just as hard as you have to help get your product sold.

With this in mind, we’ve put together a hit list of decisions that you need to make when choosing your product labels.

What Are You Sticking Them Onto & How Long Do They Need To Last?
Labels For Product Packaging:
Packaging labels need to remain firmly in place so you should make sure you choose a PERMANENT adhesive. If your packaging is made using unusual materials (especially plastic bags or boxes) you may find that standard permanent adhesives struggle to bond properly, which means you’ll need a stronger adhesive such as a HIGH TACK or MARINE adhesive. You may also be looking for a label that improves the security of your goods (especially for high value goods); we supply two “TAMPER EVIDENT” products, which can be used to provide evidence of tampering, to securely seal packaging, or to act as a warranty label or seal.

If it is of the utmost importance that your labels remain on the packaging, even if the items are to be moved around a lot, then you should consider choosing a POLYESTER or POLYETHYLENE label; these materials are much more durable than paper and offer protection against a variety of environmental factors including exposure to water and sunlight, which makes them perfect for use as long life tracking or asset labels.

Labels For Products (That Must Be Permanent):
Some product labels are used to add vital product information to items, which means the information must remain with your product for the lifetime of each item – so you must use a PERMANENT adhesive. If your products are made with unusual materials or have a curved or uneven surface you should consider choosing a stronger, more specialised adhesive (e.g. a HIGH TACK or MARINE adhesive) to ensure that your labels stay firmly in place. You may also want to apply one of our “TAMPER EVIDENT” label products to act as a warranty label or to indicate if an item has been tampered with. To create long life tracking or asset labels, you should choose one of our more durable materials; we have a range of POLYESTER and POLYETHYLENE labels, which are long lasting, waterproof labels that will survive in a variety of environments and conditions.

Labels For Products (That Must Be Removable):
It may be that the content of your labels is only required temporarily (e.g. pricing information) and so your labels should remove cleanly and easily from your products without doing any damage. In this case, you should choose labels made with a REMOVABLE ADHESIVE. If your items are particularly delicate (especially items made of paper or glass), then you may even want to consider a SUPER REMOVABLE ADHESIVE to ensure that your items remain undamaged when a label is eventually removed.

What Environments Do They Need To Work In?
Depending on the type of products you are labelling, you may need to take into account the environments that your products will be stored or used in when picking a product label. Two of the most common examples are food and drink products and cosmetic products; the former are likely to be exposed to a variety of conditions in kitchens (including exposure to liquids and variations in temperature), while the latter are likely to be used in bathrooms where they may be exposed to water or other liquids.

If you know that your labels need to survive in conditions where they may get wet then you should make sure you select a WATERPROOF label (or, as a cheaper alternative, a SPLASHPROOF label). Likewise, if you’re selling food and drink products that need to be stored in freezer conditions then you’ll need to make sure you choose DEEP FREEZE labels, which are made using a special adhesive that is designed specifically to function efficiently in freezer conditions.

How Much Content Do You Want To Add?
When designing labels for products, you’ll need to make sure that all of your information is clear and legible (especially for products that are required to show ingredients, allergen warnings, instructions for use, best before/use by dates, or health and safety warnings) AND that your branding looks attractive and professional.

A good tip is to make a note of everything you want to include on your labels (although actually typing it out is even better); if you find that you’ve got an awful lot of stuff to include but not a lot of space to add a label big enough to display it all neatly and legibly, you might want to consider breaking it up and using two or more smaller labels to create a cleaner appearance. This means you won’t end up compromising by either reducing your font to teeny tiny text or plastering a massive label all over your products and/or packaging.

What Do You Want Your Product To Look Like?
If you’re trying to create a particular appearance or build up brand recognition, you’ll want to make sure that your labels fit in with the overall ethos that you’re aiming to promote. Simply plastering a standard paper label onto your products could undermine any special design features that you’ve worked hard to add to your products and packaging, so it’s always worth looking at different material options to find the one that best matches your brand image:

Gloss Labels: these labels have a shiny smooth coating that creates a finish that is both decorative and professional in appearance. Our gloss polyester labels are particularly popular for use on cosmetics products, while our photo quality gloss paper labels are perfect for printing detailed designed work at a high resolution, even if you’ve got photographic images as part of your design.

Premium Quality Paper: made of a premium quality paper that has been treated with a special coating to give it a supremely smooth finish, these labels can help to produce excellent high resolution print that is sharp and precise. Our MPQ material is particularly popular for creating a professional finish, especially for branding and marketing labels that should be smart and crisp.

Coloured Paper: coloured labels are a brilliant starting point if you want your labels to be bold and bright, whether you’re trying to create a fun, fabulous brand identity or you simply want to draw attention to your products. We’ve got a range of subtle pastel shades for those who prefer a gentle bloom of colour or a choice of five fluorescent colours to really give your product a kick start.

Kraft Paper: made with an unbleached, uncoated Kraft paper, these labels have a ribbed brown colouring, which creates a natural appearance with a subtle touch of pattern and texture. Our Kraft Labels are especially popular for use as product labels where the products are homemade/handcrafted or gift items, or where a company wants to promote their products as being natural, bespoke, or handmade.

Metallic Paper: available in gold or silver, our metallic paper labels have a very attractive semi-gloss textured finish, which makes them a popular choice for product labels that are promoted as luxury or gift items, or to create promotional or marketing labels.

Transparent Polyester: transparent labels are a perfect tool for creating decorative and professional product labels because they provide design opportunities that other labels simply cannot provide. For example, they are brilliant product labels for use on products or packaging that are made with transparent materials (especially glass or plastic bottles), a perfect way to avoid problems with exact colour matching, and a simple solution to the issue of adding additional information to existing print work (where non-transparent labels would end up covering up some of your existing print).

Silver Metallic Polyester: with a matt metallic finish, these polyester labels are often used as professional long life tracking or asset labels – particularly on high value goods and electrical or electronic appliances.
