We supply FOUR ranges of self-adhesive transparent labels, each of which is made with a transparent polyester and a transparent adhesive, which allows all of these labels to be seen through quite clearly.
Transparent labels are useful for a number of different applications and are most commonly used when there is a need to create decorative and/or professional looking labels that avoid any potential issues with surface-matching or colour-matching.
In other words, transparent labels are generally chosen for their ability to “blend in” – so you can add a label without covering up the surface of the item you are labelling, for example:
- Products and product packaging often feature specially created designs that are an important part of the product or company brand and shouldn’t be hidden beneath any product labels that are subsequently applied. Transparent labels are also a simple solution to the issue of colour-matching; if you are using specific brand colours but can’t find labels to match, you can use a transparent label to avoid the problem altogether.
- Items connected with special events (such as wedding invitations or extra special birthday gifts) are often sent in decorative envelopes or wrapping that are specially chosen to suit the big event – and it would be a pity to cover up these items with a plain label. Transparent labels allow an address to be added without taking away from the look of envelopes or wrapping – and are, again, an easy way to avoid the problem of colour matching items that have been made to a specific colour theme.
- Labels are an ideal way to add information to displays and exhibitions – from the creations of school children through to works of art being displayed in galleries. Transparent labels are a really easy way to add professional signage to such displays and allow identifying information (such as the creator or history of a specific item) to be displayed without distracting from the item itself.
- Finally, transparent labels are a brilliant way to create window stickers for decorative or professional purposes and can be used to display information or designs without blocking out a larger section of a window than is necessary.
Our transparent labels are made with polyester, which is a tough, durable, and waterproof material that is perfect for a wide range of applications, including indoor and outdoor uses that involve exposure to water (e.g. product labels on items that are used outdoors or in kitchens/bathrooms). They can also be used to create indoor and outdoor signage, as protective covering for non-waterproof labels, or as seals on important documentation or packaging.
These labels are not “frosted” or “translucent”, nor are they “glass clear” – while they will appear almost completely see through when applied to a white or coloured surface, when they are applied to glass they may have a slightly frosted look. This is because tiny air bubbles may be trapped by the adhesive as the labels are applied, which prevents them from having a truly 100% transparent appearance when applied onto glass.
To achieve this, you would need to source an alternative type of label that do not rely on the presence of an adhesive to remain in place; for example, static cling labels use static in place of an adhesive and are capable of creating a 100% transparent adhesive.
It should also be noted that the terms “transparent” and “clear” generally mean the same thing – i.e. transparent labels may also be called clear labels. At Label Planet, we tend to use “transparent” but you will also see that our laser transparent labels have “transparent” in their product name (e.g. Gloss Transparent Labels), while our inkjet transparent labels have “clear” in their product name (e.g. Gloss Clear Labels).
The four kinds of transparent labels supplied by Label Planet are:
Gloss Clear Polyester Labels
These transparent labels have a gloss finish (a shiny finish) and are suitable for use with INKJET printers only; they can also be used to create your own mini dry wipe boards.
Gloss Transparent Polyester Labels
These transparent labels also have a gloss finish but are suitable for use with LASER printers only; this makes them ideal for use as permanent labels on items that also have a gloss surface.
Removable Gloss Transparent Polyester Labels
These transparent labels have a removable adhesive (they can be removed from a surface with damaging that surface in the process); they also have a gloss finish and are suitable for use with LASER printers only.
Matt Transparent Polyester Labels
These transparent labels have a permanent adhesive and a matt finish (a non-shiny finish) and are suitable for use with LASER printers only; these labels are ideal for use as permanent labels on non-glossy surfaces and are particularly well-suited to use as professional labels on important documentation or product packaging.
